The biggest issue is expectation vs reality. You pay for a 4/5* hotel expecting that level. If this was a 2/3* property, priced lower, no problem.
However, booked months in advance… turned up on the day to find the gym and spa facilities closed, and had been for over a month. No notification given. Stains on carpet in room, problems with sticky lock on bathroom door, stains on seats in restaurant, limited breakfast buffet selection of variable quality. Skybar furnished to a low standard and quality of food distinctly average, but priced at 5* levels.
Avani now posses a unique spot in my personal global hotel ratings, with one of my favourites being Avani Luang Prabang, and one of the worst Avani Busan. One you should definitely try, the other definitely avoid.
