It is a homey place to stay. The proprietors go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and your needs are met. The accommodation was not luxurious by any means, but it was clean, in a safe area, and had a friendly, caring atmosphere. I disliked my first room, because it was at the top of the building, and I found the upper metal staircase to be scary - there's no elevator. I expressed my concern soon after checking in, and my room was switched to a lower floor immediately. The room wasn't spacious, but it was enough room for me. Sizes of rooms vary, so make sure to ask questions and choose carefully when booking here. Beware that the beds are located in lofts in the marble staircase floors. Breakfast was good, and included a nice variety of choices. The location is convenient and safe. There are numerous restaurants, shops and grocery stores, plus subway access nearby. I'd stay here again. The owner was out of town, but if you're looking for tango lessons, this hotel has a beautiful ballroom where you can have lessons from the owner, or possibly someone else, right on the premises.
