We LOVED our stay here! We are always wanting to find the cleanest place we can stay at an affordable price, and this place was wonderful! It has the comforts of a large hotel but is family owned and still has an intimate feel. We will be returning!

Western themed motel in Salida
Not your standard motel in terms of decorations. They have a western theme carried throughout with unique art and statues in the outdoor common areas. Room was clean and beds comfy. Towels could have been larger for bigger folks. The hotel has clearly been remodeled and they did a nice job. Several breakfast options available including cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, bagels and toast, No eggs or waffles. Premises seemed pretty busy so it must be a popular spot.

We stayed at the Matterhorn two nights in August during our Colorado trip. The rooms were nice and clean and well-appointed. Rooms were on the small side, but it is a older hotel. Their patio area with lawn furniture was my favorite. We sat out every night and watched the sunset against the mountains. View is unparalleled. The family that owns the hotel were absolutely awesome with us. Helpful and talkative. Thanked us over and over for staying with them. Will definitely stay there again on future trips. Do yourself a favor and stay here... You won't regret it.
