OOVERVIEW
Your enchantingly delightful & VERY PRIVATE suite has TWO ROOMS, both with vast ocean views, with more views of the rugged coastline from your deck overlooking the ocean directly below. You also have a kitchenette and a private bathroom.

FREE EV CHARGING PROMOTION
Free electric vehicle charging. Offer expires soon. (Book now to lock it in!)

NO PETS :(
We love them & we apologize, but no pets or service animals due to host allergies.

VIEWS
You'll wake up to the sight and sound of the ocean and find long distance views of the ever-changing horizon where it meets the sky. From your suite, from your deck and from the courtyards you'll see miles of coastal seascape with rocky outcroppings and sandy beaches.

CHECK-IN
We'll send check-in information right after you book a stay with us, and someone on our team will meet you on arrival to show you where to park.

BEDS & BEDROOMS
You'll find a very comfortable queen bed in your bedroom, along with extra blankets & pillows. And your hosts can provide a comfy floor mattress for a third person to use in the door-separated dining area, if needed. That makes it into a temporary "2nd bedroom" at night - during the day the mattress can be stowed away. (Note: Three adults are allowed but this suite works better for two adults or two with a child.)

BATHROOM & SHOWER
Your private bathroom features a tiled shower with an endless supply of hot water. It also has loads of extra towels plus a few travel necessities such as feminine products, toothpaste, shaving cream & safety razors. There is even a small sewing kit! (Note: There is no sink in the bathroom so the sink in the kitchenette near the bathroom is used for washing hands.)

ROBES & SLIPPERS
When you get up in the morning put on one of the freshly laundered robes with slippers provided by your hosts and relax into your day.

KITCHENETTE
In your suite you'll find a small kitchenette with a mini-refrigerator, a toaster and a microwave oven, along with a pour-over coffee making system. A hot plate is available to warm up soup, cook eggs and such - but no aromatic foods like bacon or fish, please, because the kitchenette does not have an exhaust vent for cooking odors.

COFFE, TEAS & MORE
The cupboards are stocked with great coffee and a large selection of top quality teas, plus makings for hot cocoa and hot cereals plus a few individually sized cold cereals. A few fun snack treats are also provided, along with juices, small bottled waters, half-n-half milkette creamers (single serving half-n-half's) for your coffee or tea, with an ice tray in the freezer section.

DINING AREAS
Your suite has a table and chairs inside for meals and there is a small table on your deck - see pictures. There are also outdoor dining areas available that feature picnic tables with garden & ocean views.

WORK SPACE & WI-FI
The indoor table doubles as a workspace and you'll have excellent Wi-Fi with good upload and download speeds.

LIBRARY / LIVING ROOM
The big and comfortable library (central living room) is shared with other guests. It has a coffee table, couches and big, comfortable chairs for reading and relaxation. You'll also find a few yoga mats available in a cabinet if needed. There are a lot of books for children of all ages plus a wide variety of thought-provoking books for adults, such as "The Four Agreements" and "The Power of Now". It also has a few history books and many of the classics.

CONNECT WITH NATURE
There is no TV so in the morning plan to relax, read or take your coffee out to sit in one of the comfortable outdoor seating areas and enjoy the breathtaking views. Or you might want to consider exploring local beaches, seeing the redwoods or connecting with any of the many other outdoor adventures we'll tell you about when you book your stay.

BEACH ACCESS
We're located on a cliff directly above the beach with no current access down the side of the cliff to the beach below, but it is just a two minute drive to BEACH-LEVEL PARKING at Harris Beach State Park.

SOUTH HARRIS BEACH
South Harris Beach, which is one of the best ocean beaches on the Oregon coast, is even closer; it is just a ten minute walk or a one minute drive to get there. And it almost never has people on it because you have to walk down the side of a cliff on a paved path to get to it, and because very few tourists know about it.

LONE RANCH BEACH
Lone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.

HARBOR BEACH
The magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes south.

SECRET BEACH
Secret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.

WHALE WATCHING
Resident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.

REDWOOD NATURE TRAIL
Walking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.

WILD RIVERS
The Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. And the cold waters of the Smith River, just a few miles south of Brookings, also has plenty of fish, especially salmon and trout.

OCEAN FISHING
Thee are well over a dozen ocean charter fishing companies and fishing guides available in the harbor just two miles south of our property.

VIDEOS ABOUT LOCAL ADVENTURES
When you book a stay we'll send you a number of videos about local adventures and things to do!

REAR COURTYARD HOURS
For guest privacy the rear courtyard hours are 9 a.m. to sunset; please don't use the rear courtyard after dark or before 9 a.m.

LIBRARY HOURS
the common area library hours (we call it "The Quiet Room" because no talking or music is allowed) are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.

PARKING
Please park parallel to the white property wall on right side as you pull into the driveway, or if no room there please park near the Electric Vehicle chargers on the other side of the driveway.

PARKING IF CAR LEAKS
If your vehicle leaks oil or other fluids please park just off the street in the gravel area in front of the house.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS – by Barbara

Patrick & I were (and still are!) grateful & amazed at the good fortune that came our way when we acquired two 'diamond in the rough' coastal properties on the Southern Oregon coast that are right next to each other. Both sit on their own cliffside acre overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean.

We did not plan on being BnB hosts - it just sort of happened - but we are glad it did because we are always delighted to share these amazing properties with our guests.

I was recently retired from a job in the medical field and Patrick had sold his real estate office when, in March of 2019, we found the coastal property we now live in while we on a road trip through Southern Oregon.

The house that is now our home had been on the market 5 years as part of an estate sale & it needed a lot of work, but we loved it the moment we saw it. **We made the best offer we could afford and our offer was accepted! The separate guesthouse that came with it became our first BnB.

Then in 2022 our elderly & very kind next-door neighbor, a widower, decided to move to Portland to be with family. His circa 1950 house also needed a lot of work. We were experienced hosts at that point and we knew the location and layout were absolutely perfect for another BnB. So Patrick worked out a deal with the seller that included some seller-financing and we bought it. Then we put in granite counter tops, tiled showers, redwood decks, heated floors, bigger windows and much more.

Our objective was to create a magical space where people can come to relax in quiet comfort with lots of privacy & stunning ocean views. It worked out perfectly and now we love sharing these magical side-by-side properties with our guests!

Thank you for considering a stay with us while in Brookings. Patrick and I wish you safe travels and an enjoyable visit.

Sincerely,
Barbara :)

PS.
1. No one has better coastal views!
2. Best price/value - nothing comparable at this price
3. W always treat people the way we would want to be treated.

Best ocean views!!
We have enjoyed many Oregon places up and down the coast, but by far this is the best yet!! Clean, quiet, comfortable bed and beautiful views from inside the dining area and bedroom. Even more views and comfy seating inside the quiet library!

Lovely property with outstanding view!
We loved the options for sitting outside and enjoying the view as well as the views from inside the unit! There were many little conveniences provided - toothbrushes should you forget yours, snacks, water, etc. - and a nice set up for making coffee in the morning. Wonderful place!

Sisters trip
This property is spectacular if your looking for a tranquil setting. The view is one of the best I've seen on the Oregon coast. Communication was very good with the owners and both of them are very pleasant. The unit is well stocked with essentials and lots of extra things. We had a very nice stay at this vacation rental.

Awesome view
View is amazing, and the rental had what we needed for our 2 night stay. We’d planned to do laundry at this leg of our trip, and the owners helped us out. Much appreciated. They are still working on the grounds and privacy was an issue at times, but it looked like that would be done pretty soon. We were not interested in the “quiet room”, but rather more with our own suite and view of the ocean. Brookings is a great town to enjoy the beautiful beaches and hiking. We highly recommend driving the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor and venturing out on several of the short hikes out to the glorious views. We ate at Poncho’s (good!) and The Hungry Clam ( super fresh seafood). Great place to visit!
