SEAHORSE MANOR
Beachfront luxury home with large hot tub on beautiful deck. This elegant 4-bedroom three bath house offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Just off the expansive deck, steps provide private access to the beach where you can collect driftwood, seashells and interesting rocks polished by the ocean. Or you can fish in the surf.
The house has four bedrooms, providing comfortable sleeping accommodations for 8 and ample room to spread out in common areas. The house is spectacular as well as large with almost 4,000 square feet. The large living room downstairs with a 19-foot ceiling features a glass wall showcasing the deck, beach and ocean. You can watch for whales or observe the sea lions sunning themselves on the nearby rocks just offshore from inside the house or you can go out on the large new deck. The 2300 square foot deck features a large hot tub where you can luxuriate as you watch sealife before you. Osprey as well as seagulls and a variety of other land and seabirds populate the area. Often you can watch the local fishing fleet plying their trade just offshore.
The large family room downstairs features a 12’ Brunswick shuffleboard as well as a 75” Samsung smart TV. The family room also offers a wine cooler refrigerator and bar.
In the kitchen new GE gas range with electric oven and Kitchen Aid dishwasher anchor the appliances. The well-equipped kitchen features windows providing great views of the ocean and beach. Beautiful quartz countertops finish the outstanding décor in the kitchen.
In the front courtyard there is a large propane barbeque to cook on. When the ocean breezes come up, the front courtyard provides a nice spot outdoors sheltered from the wind.
A couple miles to the north is the quaint town of Harbor which is primarily a little fishing village. There are numerous charter party boats offering fishing, depending on the season, for rockfish, halibut, salmon or crab. The Chetco river enters the ocean at Harbor and at times of the year, the Chetco River offers spectacular salmon and steelhead fishing.
Speaking of salmon fishing, the world-famous Rogue River is just about 30 miles north at the town of Gold Beach. The Rogue offers world class salmon fishing for much of the year, and guides with boats are readily available.
In addition to beach combing or just relaxing, there are a variety of activities available locally. In the summer one can pick blackberries nearby. Or you can venture into quaint little Brookings to visit antique shops or specialty kite stores.
Although one doesn’t vacation on the Oregon coast because of its restaurants, there are several good restaurants in town, including some excellent ethnic restaurants.
The Southern Oregon Coast is beautiful with spectacular rocky formations punctuating the surf. The woods are beautiful including the impressive giant redwoods just over the border in California (just a few miles from Seahorse Manor). And in the fields near Seahorse Manor, growers produce their world-famous Easter lilies.
Seahorse Manor offers accommodations for eight people. Small private events (e.g. small private wedding or birthday party) may be possible for an additional charge. Contact the host for details. The house is elegant, and it is not recommended for small children. Sadly, we cannot allow dogs or other animals. This is a no-smoking house.
