Perfect. No stairs to the lake, easy access. Well equiped, spacious home. The water was so warm, sandy bottom, shallow.

Jayhawk was an amazing camp for our family of 6 this year! We have extended family that stays in several camps around the lake and Camp Jayhawk allowed us to host everyone very comfortably. This location has a beautiful view of the lake! I would recommend trimming a few more branches in front of the master balcony. overall very pleased with this camp and would stay again!

Great location on the lake
Location was perfect, especially for a family with small children. Shallow water with sand bottom, lots of room. Great sunset views. Room to dock 2 boats. The only downfall was the cleanliness since it is up to the previous renters to clean. There also was no tub in either shower for kids baths.

Great week at the lake!
This was a beautiful property with plenty of space for my group of 8. All the rooms face west toward the lake and we got amazing sunsets (when there was sun...it was a bit of a rainy/cloudy week). Watching the fireworks over the lake on the 4th was spectacular. There were canoes and kayaks to use and a sandy lake access for swimming. I wish the lake were a big deeper in this part, since it was difficult to go in over my head, but it was safe for my 90 year old mother to access and I'm sure parents of young children would be pleased about the ease of lake access. A very comprehensive binder helped us navigate the use and maintenance of the camp. We hope we can come again next year!

Very nice property that's private. I was disappointed the owner nor Management Co. responded to my calls & text about the broken TV in the living room. Web photos and handyman contact info. need to be updated.

Mostly wonderful!
Beautiful cottage and location. Loved the games, kayaks and canoe. Washer and dryer a huge plus. Upon arrival had to clean and vacuum floors. Reported to owner; they don't live nearby. Lots of mice, so couldn't keep anything food items out, and lots of droppings in cupboards. Overall, a wonderful place, but would recommend getting a better hold on the mice (although some would be expected).

Stay at Brantingham
Without question, this is a beautiful spot on the lake - nestled into privacy. There is a Loon couple on the lake, which made things even more special. We loved exploring the lake on the kayaks. The house is quite comfy - we were only two - but ample space for larger parties. The main drawback for us was the motor boat and jet ski enthusiasts. We were hoping for a more kayak-friendly setting. However, things did settle down after the labor day weekend. The grocery store is about 25 minutes away, so plan to bring food the first day/night or build that into your plan.

Great location
We had a great stay. The location on the lake couldn't have been better for our family with young children. They were able to swim and explore all day in the shallow water and we had total privacy. There were a few inaccuracies/inconsistencies with the listing and I wasn't prepared for the amount of mice we had to deal with, but overall we had a nice time.

Location, Location, Location
This was our 3rd year staying at JayHawk. We love that it's so close to the water and I, who walks with a cane, loves not having tons of steps to get the water. It's a great property for all ages. We've already booked for 2021!

Great location!
My husband, two young daughters and I stayed at the camp for the week. The location on the lake was amazing, water was warm and shallow for the kids to play right off the shore. Sunsets were picture perfect! The camp was in good shape and great size for our family, but there were multiple mouse traps around the house that had dead mice that we had to take care of. Not a big deal as it is a camp but a heads up that we would have to manage rodent control for the week would have been nice. Overall we would definitely consider renting the camp again- one of the nicest rentals on the lake.

Perfect!
Camp Jayhawk is an amazing house tucked in a quiet little cove. Absolutely everything we needed was available at the camp or nearby. Family of 8 had no problems with cooking on the hot plate and grill. Beautiful sunsets and water that looks like glass in the mornings. Totally enjoyed our vacation! Thank you!

Great place for family except....
This is the 2nd year our family has stayed at JayHawk. It's in a beautiful setting and so peaceful and private. Most of the places on this lake have steps down to the water. This cottage is level with the water. The only drawback is that there is no stove top to cook on. There is an oven and 2 hot plates, but it makes it very inconvenient for cooking for 9 people, especially breakfast. We are renting it again next summer. I'm hoping the cooking arrangements will be better. I do highly recommend this rental.

Very very nice but.....
The cottage and surrounding property is fantastic. Many recreational amenities provided. Location was perfect, right on the water’s edge. One big glitch that needs to be fixed is the two burner hot plate for cooking. The occupancy description is cottage sleeps 10. How in the world can meals be prepared on a two burner hot plate for a family. We had planned to cook meals every night during our stay but had a very difficult experience. Not good. There is an antique stove in the kitchen but was told not to use it. Also there is a wall oven but only good for certain meals. All in all the kids had fun but the parents had a a difficult time providing meals for them. The view of the lake is very picturesque with beautiful sunsets. We wouldn’t go back though unless a decent stove for cooking is provided.

Great Family Location
This was our first year at Camp Jayhawk and the family had a great time. With the water steps away, the kids and grand-kids had fun kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room inside. Having 2 bathrooms was great. Also, a TV upstairs and down. There were a few little problems. The shower head was leaking, but was fixed with electrical tape and probably replaced by now. There were a couple of old couches that should be tossed, but there was plenty of other seating. We have booked for next year already and can't wait to go back!

Brantingham Lake House
Pros: Very spacious, Deck gets sun all day long, Location is in low traffic area, TV channels are extensive, WI-FI very fast Cons: Can't use stove top for cooking-only 2 burner hot plate available, Required to launder towels and sheets and clean unit as per schedule (Toilets, Vacuum etc.). Checkout is 11am. We started cleaning at 7am and it took us till 11am to complete scheduled cleaning.

A great place to come together
I was looking for a place where I could invite a few friends and family to spend time together. This place was perfect -- it's big enough to handle a couple of generations (the 20 somethings and the 60 somethings) without everyone getting in each others way. There were plenty of things people could do, both together and separately, including swimming, walks, fires, paddles, cooking in the roomy kitchen, and hanging out at various local taverns, farmers markets, etc. And the view is the ultimate stress-reliever.

Fantastic week at Camp Jayhawk
What we loved about Camp Jayhawk: Beautiful setting right on the lake. Great views of the lake from inside. Dock is a short easy walk from the front door. My 95 year old mother-in-law really appreciated not having to go up and down stairs. Plenty of room to spread out inside. New shower upstairs is a wonderful addition. Sleeping accommodations were good. Fantastic sunsets. Even watching the rain come across the lake was enjoyable. Provided linens, towels, soap, and paper products made traveling to the camp from a distance (2000+ miles for us) much easier. We loved having kayaks and canoes provided!
