Safe environment. Odd motive - tropical island ... But this is France. It was odd that we had to wait 10 minutes for front desk to check if our room was ready - yet checking time was stated as 3:00pm and we were arriving at 6:00pm!

We had a wonderful stay and especially liked the location. It was very near the river and we were able to walk along the path way to Cite du Vin. The hotel had a fabulous roof top restaurant where we had our breakfast every morning. The staff at breakfast were friendly, efficient and very accomodating. Less than a five minute walk there was a terrific little French restaurant called Chez DuPont on a very interesting street that made you feel you were in the heart of France.

Location was perfect - <5 mins from two tram stops which took you all over the city. There were also some fantastic restaurants nearby. Room was beautiful - resembled the photos on the site. We had a superior room which was perfect for 2 adults and a 12-year old. They got their own sleeping space rather than the usual sofa bed, they were very happy about that! Toilet was separate to bathroom and was a bit on the small side, so if your mobility is limited, that might be an issue. Toileteries were Nuxe, and were divine! Reception staff were great, particularly at check in - super helpful, spoke excellent english, and gave us lots of recommendations. Housekeeping needed some prompting to replenish toileteries but they were very fast and thorough. Rooftop bar was a bit of a disappointment, we encountered fairly slow service each time we went (hence the 3 stars for staff). Would happily go back!

Booked for one night so we could see Bordeaux whilst on a trip down to Spain. We went with Indigo IHG as this is a very good chain of hotels in the UK. I wouldn't say it's of the same standard as an Indigo in the UK but it was a nice quiet clean hotel. One of the comfiest beds I think I've ever slept in. Didn't have breakfast as lots of local options. Parking was 20 euros for 24 hours right next to the hotel under cover. And great locality to the centre of Bordeaux to be able to see all the historical monuments. Overall a good hotel.

Great location, staff were great aswell. We arrived quite early after getting off a 6am flight. They allowed for us to check in early (we are ING club members so possibly why) this was much appreciated. Rooms were lovely and they had a nice roof top bar where you could have a drink or something to eat. Very happy with our stay.

Did what it’s is on the tin. Will stay there again - No. it is not my type and I did not research it enough before booking. iHG hotel but did not really match up according to me. Location in a chic neighbourhood with lively bars and cafes just behind a he hote. Staff very friendly . Building new and glass structure. Reception tired. Common parts not inspiring at all . Room very large - decoration very mediocre high street furnishings. Please note toilet is separate without a basin so inconvenient. Bath is inside the main room so noisy to the other occupant . Had room slippers missing so was inconvenient. Slight walk to the action of the town centre about 10 minutes. If you need the buzz then this is not the place but if you need chilled yes it is . Also superb terrace restaurant !

We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so was offered an internally facing room. We decided to take this room as we wanted to ger settled and start exploring. Although we didn't have a view, this didn't detract from our 3 night stay as the room was so clean and well proportioned with an excellent walk-in shower in the bathroom. The bed was huge and so comfortable. We didn't hear anything from other rooms or outside. Breakfast was served from the restaurant on the top foor which was extended to the terrace (if you wanted this) when the weather improved (stayed at the beginning of May). The breakfast choices were excellent and great quality including canele! Locally you have two tram lines nearby. We walked everywhere but used the tram to get back to the airport (took about an hour but really cheap). Nearby are some excellent restaurants, bars and bakeries. The area is really nice and, although not far from the main tourist attractions, in a relaxed area. We would definitely recommend staying at the Indigo and would stay here again.
