Treasured Times at the Lake. This newly constructed property is a stunning 4-bedroom, 4 full bath lakefront home in the quaint and picturesque neighborhood of SweetGrass, just minutes from downtown Blowing Rock. It is a fantastic location, close to all the mountain activities, dining and shopping, while also providing a beautiful lakefront/Grandfather Mountain view from the back porch. We built this home ourselves to bring our family together in one of the most beautiful mountain neighborhoods around. We love sharing it because it's just such a one-of-a-kind property with gorgeous lake and mountain views.
This property features an open floor plan concept with a designer kitchen and large family room accented by a vaulted ceiling, spectacular floor to ceiling stone fireplace and a gorgeous wall of windows looking out onto SweetGrass Lake. Rough sawn timber used throughout the house makes for the perfect mountain getaway feel. Sunsets are truly magnificent! The main level master bedroom is so cozy with it's own fireplace, spa-like bathroom and walk out screened porch. There are two large bedrooms (one king bedroom and one queen, queen bedroom) and 2 full bathrooms on the second floor. The second-floor loft/game area is perfect to keep everyone entertained. Choose from shuffle board, foosball, or challenge the family to chess/checkers at the lovely game table. This loft area is also perfect for watching your favorite movies or sporting events on the large TV screen.
If you have to work while in the mountains, this home has a main floor office with a spacious desk to set up your computer. This room can also double as a 4th bedroom as it has a twin day bed with pop up second twin bed.
This home is professionally decorated in rustic mountain colors that will have you relaxed in no time. The furnishings are a lovely mix of new pieces combined with many fun antique treasures we've accumulated along the way.
The back porch offers a lovely view of Grandfather Mountain where you can grill out or enjoy a beverage in the spacious hot tub. Roast marshmallows and share family memories around the rustic outdoor firepit. Fish or canoe off the home's private dock. Canoe is stored under the back deck.
We love this neighborhood because it's so scenic and also flat which is perfect for walking or biking. In the winter months, our home is much more accessible than many other properties because there are no steep access roads. For the skiing crowd, this home is a 15-30 minute drive to 3 of the popular area ski resorts.
This property will be the 5th time we've listed a home on VRBO. Over the years, we have sold them and currently now just have two listings. We are a preferred partner with 5-star reviews and many repeat guests.
Please note, we have several outdoor cameras at this property that are used for security only. They are not viewed regularly unless an incident arises in which we need to check the footage.

Wonderful Get-away
Property was in a wonderful gated community around Blowing Rock. We were new to this area and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely it was. The house itself was beautiful and had everything we needed from the indoor fireplace, outdoor firepit, outdoor hot tub and game room. Communication with the host was top notch and we had no issues at all. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you for letting us stay here.

Family Time
We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable, beautiful home. The setting was beautiful with an amazing sunset. There was a canoe and kayak available, fantastic fire pit and a very nice hot tub. We enjoyed the relaxed comfort of this home. I’m a bit of a fanatic about checking for cleanliness in a rental and I found sticky drink marks on the master end tables. I had to wipe down the bedroom furniture. Other than that the house was very clean.

My wife, two young daughters, and I had a wonderful time staying here for a long weekend. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, playing table shuffleboard, and most especially walks around the lake trail. We loved being close to the Blue Ridge Parkway with quick trips to Blowing Rock and Boone. We would definitely return to stay.

Beautiful Lakeside Home with Mountain Views
This beautiful, immaculate home nestled on a private lake with views of the distant mountains proved to be the perfect retreat for our family. We enjoyed early morning fishing off the property’s dock and walks around the lake, canoeing in the afternoon and evening soaks in the hot tub. Although we did not make use of the outdoor fire pit, we did take family game night to a new level with the shuffle board and foosball tables. While we did spend a lot of time touring off site, this property provided additional opportunities for adventure and was equipped with all the comforts of home! We cannot wait to go back!

Living in luxury for four days!
This magnificent home is situated with lovely views of the lake. IThe home was well appointed with everything that one would need. We were there with 4 couples who spent most of the time on the comfortable deck playing games. Each couple had their own comfy space and beds were hugely relaxing. Maile was communicative when we needed and instructions for our stay were easy to understand. Anyone would be lucky to stay here.

Perfect Lakefront Retreat
As advertised, this home was super clean, well appointed, and efficiently set-up to provide maximum comfort and enjoyment. We loved the walking trails inside the neighborhood and close proximity to downtown Blowing Rock and Bass Lake Loop Trail. The hot tub, outdoor grill, and apd fantastic views make this a property that we would definitely book again. Highly recommend.

Check-in instructions were clear & accurate. Home is of quality materials. Decking is particularly nice with multiple level of adequate size. Screened-in porch was the most appreciated space. Yard is maintained, boats were wonderful, and the separate hot water dispenser in the sink was great. The Views. Stunning views of the ever-changing lake, nice trails that we ran daily, and easy access to the BLRI (Blue Ridge Parkway) make this home our favorite thus far, We have visited this area annually since 2010. And those views…!

Perfect Mountain Getaway
This house was the perfect getaway for two families - 4 adults, two 12 year-old boys and 2 dogs. Everyone had plenty of space. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Furniture is comfy. Rooms are spacious. Game room with the shuffle board and foosball provided some evening fun. Outdoor setup is amazing. Decks had plenty of seating. There were dog pen panels in the shed that allowed us to block off the stairs to keep dogs on patio. Hot tub was a nice touch after a long hard hike. House includes a canoe and a kayak to spend time on the lake. Small dock to fish from and you could also fish from some of the general spaces around the lake. Firepit is terrific and the house has a giant stack of firewood under the patio for your use. Being a Dark sky community where there are no lights after 10PM you get an amazing view of the stars. Honestly we sat on the porch the majority of time we spent at the house. Great view of the lake and mountains. Location is a short drive to Blowing Rock and maybe a 20 minute drive into Boone. Lots of decent restaurants and breweries in the area. Awesome hikes off of the Blue Ridge Parkway Communications with Maile was prefect. She called on our way to the house to verify we received the instructions. Would definitely would stay here again and recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet location with plenty to do

Wonderful property in a beautiful mountain lake community close to everything. Perfect location. Comfortable with great kitchen perfect for family meals - fully stocked and then some. Great hot tub, dock, kayak with more available at the lakeside clubhouse. Enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking and just relaxing on the decks enjoying the view. Terrific fire pit lakeside. Well furnished including the decks. Experienced owner who is always available to assist. We are well familiar with the area and rented many times over the years, but We WILL be back here again! Thank you to the owners who graciously allow our dear pets to join us!

Great Lakefront Home in the Mountains
We arrived late in the evening at the property and were able to access the house as noted by Maile. Everything was spotless and well stocked for our stay. The house is located in a beautiful and very quiet neighborhood with nice walking trails. It is a short drive to town (Blowing Rock) to the grocery store, restaurants and shopping. Our first morning in the house, we saw a bald eagle perched on one of the rocks in the lake. Our last evening there, we watched a river otter swim around the lake. So cool!! My wife and I stayed in the master on the first floor, which meant our senior dog didn't have to go up the stairs. Some friends of ours and their two teenage daughters used the two bedrooms upstairs. Everyone slept well in the super-comfortable beds. The house is well layed out so the group could gather for meals and hang out, as well as enjoy other activities in smaller groups (shuffleboard, foosball, etc). The kitchen was well stocked, the deck and hot-tub are awesome, and we even used the easy-to-start gas grill for a couple of meals. One evening, it was exceptionally windy, so a couple of the doors were moving around. I reached out to Maile and she got right back to me with a reminder on how to properly latch them (I had not fully read the accurate directions she previously provided on how to fully lock the French doors). We would highly recommend this property. We just got back and we're already talking about going back again at some point!!

Wonderful start to 2024
We decided as a family to limit our Christmas gift exchanging and use that money to take a family vacation to see snow. Being from Florida, we only get to see the other “white stuff” (beach sand) so we decided to trade the sand for snow. We searched and searched for weeks on finding places to stay in Blowing Rock and came across the gem. We almost went with another property because of the price difference but decided to stay here and SO GLAD WE DID!!! It was well worth it. The house has everything you could ask for and plenty of room for a big family so that you don’t feel like you are on top of each other. Communications with the host was amazing. Answered all of our many questions. Gave great recommendations on where to eat and what to do. We wanted to take our boys sledding and asked if there were sleds. They did not have any but the next day there were three sleds on the front porch. We were suppose to get a bad snow storm and the host kept in touch with a contingency plan if we weren’t able to check out on time (that day, no snow storm and 47 degrees). We spent a few hours in the community walking around the lake and the many trails that go along the creek. We HIGHLY recommend this place to stay if your are in the Blowing Rock, Boone area. Grandfather Mountain is close by. Banner Elk and Beech Mountain for hill sledding. Sugar Mountain for skiing. Hawks Nest for snow tubing (so much fun). If you are looking for another place to stay, stop and choose this house.
