The property was obviously patched here and there, There was a lot of broken and missing tiles in the bathroom, there was so much mould on the tiles and all down the shower cubicle, the door of the shower cubicle only opened half way, The cups had Dirty rings inside ,We went down asked for clean ones. The general paint work was dirty . Fire escape door left open, leaving rooms vulnerable as the entrance gate from road only locked at 7pm. We checked the bed and pillows and were grateful they were clean , just summer duvet and no heating on in November . I have pictures as I was shocked , but couldn’t book anywhere else in the time I had.
Booked the property then saw the reviews so was abit nervous to go here with them all being bad but I can not fault our stay at all!
Upon arrival the music was loud in the pub, we checked in and the manager took us out the back.
We were in one of the self contained lodges in the courtyard and it was of a very high clean standard, as we arrived the heating was on. It was newly refurbished and it was done to a high standard.
Only one fault, the is a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor and therefore around 3am - 5am we could hear the other rooms outside smoking and drinking which were chatting. Other than that, we had a good experience.
The condition of the property is run down and therefore difficult to present well. However the sheets were clean and the room warm. It’s a pub so expect noise.
Booked a room here to use as an overnight stop over, before an early morning start to onward journey. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. But when I booked back in July, there was no mention that the room might be right above the bar where the seriously loud music would go on till 12.30am. Bass was literally making fixtures in the room vibrate. Was told that the room would have been one of the last to be let because of this and that as they were fully booked, I couldn't be moved. I appreciate that its a pub but the chatting/shouting/arguing from the tables outside went on until 2am. En suite bathroom looked newly refurbished but the footprints on the tiled floor and stray hairs in the sink and shower were a little off-putting. Location was perfectly situated for my needs but had I been better informed, I would have booked elsewhere and have cancelled a subsequent booking.
This place is very run down and dirty. The music was so loud, and the noise from the clientele made it impossible to sleep. everything was not explained on arrival and we had to track down a staff member, who was very helpful this time. The room was very dated, and dirty in places...it's in need of a huge update/refurbishment. It wasn't very expensive but I wish we had paid more and stopped elsewhere where. One to avoid
Really dated very dirty and there was a kindle inside the bed sheets so obviously not been changed, loads of long black hairs in bed really noisy. Disappointing stay
Poorly maintained, holes in wales, mould in bathroom. Hairs in bed, dirty bathroom floor. Room next to car park, not double glazed so room cold and noisy.
The bathroom was in a terrible state. It appeared to have not been cleaned after the previous guest had used it.
The toilet pan and seat were disgusting.
I had booked two double rooms, one of the rooms was above the bar, which had music playing until still o clock in the morning, multiple fights happened during my short 1 day stay. The car park was full when it is supposed to be for people staying at the property.
Overall, I would literally never stay here again.
