Construction still going on at 10 at night and staff don’t know when it will stop, possible go on all night. Exhausted and was looking forward to a good nights sleep. Unable to do so. Too tired to contemplate moving at this time of night which was all they offered. They should not put guests one floor above all night construction. Wouldn’t have chosen this hotel if I knew. Also no gym and no menu in room for room service. Terrible experience.

For being the oldest hotel in Birmingham I guess I expected a lot more. Especially being a Hilton. To me it was no different than a bad holiday inn.

Our second stay here. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but is in need of some attention. The old single pane wood frame windows in our room were split and rotting. Apparently when they did the last renovation they didn’t upgrade the windows, this leads to temp fluctuations and noise that are unnecessary. We were quite tired when checked in and ate at the restaurant. The food and service were quite good, but the ambiance was severely lacking. Staff was good, attentive, no issues. The Valet was odd. I told the valet we’d need the car back out in an hour to go to a show, and he informed us we’d have to anti-up $40 before the car could be retrieved(?). Apparently some concern that I would retrieve the car, but park on the street or nearby lot rather than returning it to the Valet after the show. Not wanting to fool with it, we opted to Uber. Time for a refresh!

No refrigerator. Limited USB ports. Too expensive for the lack of amenities. $48 for parking when around the corner we paid $9 but had to carry our bags two blocks. Person at the check in was curt and the password was not on the card folder. Went back to the desk and she spelled it out instead of writing it out. I forgot it when I tried connecting 3 more devices to Wi-Fi.

Very nice historical hotel in downtown Birmingham. The oldest still in operation in the city. I had a single king bed room and it was sparse and simple but comfortable with a classic style.

I am not someone who leave negative reviews but my experience was absolutely terrible. I waited over an hour to check in because the room was not ready/cleaned - by the time i was checked in it was after 4:40pm. They let othet people who came in after me check in before me - shows how unorganized they are. The description shows suites having shower/tub combo but they only had showers. The property is OLD and although they did renovated the property the suite is not worth the extra money. it feels tight and narrow. The phone line didn't work. Internet is unbearably slow.
