They advertise an indoor pool but….. the windows and doors to the outside were broken letting all the cold air in. Water was murky and it looked like no one had vacuumed the pool in a LONG time! Unusable! And there’s no USB plugs in the room to charge your phone!! Rooms otherwise were fine ( except for a filthy microwave, which I never used.) Breakfast was average but for this older hotel I was surprised there were hot options at all! I’d say pay a little more and go to the Drury Inn next door!

It is located in a comfortable place, the breakfast 10/10. The rooms are large and comfortable but they should improve the details in cleaning. The curtains in the rooms have fungus on the edges,The air conditioners need to be cleaned on the windows, and the bathroom extractor is full of dust. Apart from that, it's not bad at all for what you need.

Sliding doors were broken in the pool area they were left open, the main doors to go outside from the pool area were broken, our sink was broken in the room, a towel had a big brown stain on it. Our dead bolt wouldn’t lock in the room. No refund or discount.

The room was so-so regarding overall cleanliness. The room was at the end of a long hallway and in the corner adjacent a room with a loud dog...that barked every time we moved around, that was not okay. Here is what was a PROBLEM...upon checkout I told the lacking in customer service desk clerk that the bed sheets were clean but the blanket(which we took off the bed after my sanitizing) was NOT clean! What make this a problem is the desk clerk either didn't like her job or she didn't like me...either way that was her problem not mine!!! She DID NOT acknowledge anything I said or offer an apology!! Management needs to make sure that the desk clerks are somewhat cordial to ALL people and if there is a complaint it should be acknowledge and an apology offered for the inconvenience. Needless to say the next time I am in Birmingham for an over night stay if Best Western Carlton is the only hotel with availability...I will sleep in my vehicle before staying there again!!!

Comfortable stay
They had trouble finding my reservation, but eventually fixed the problem. Everything in the room was nice, except in the bathroom where there was stains on the ceiling and other areas. The room was very roomy and comfortable as well as clean.
