God’s Country Getaway! Entire cabin on Turtle Lake

About this space
Located in the heart of God’s country, this beautifully secluded cabin sits on 8 private acres. With 3 Bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, our Northwoods cabin gives even the biggest families plenty of room to spread out. Built overlooking an isolated bay off of Turtle Lake, enjoy the breathtaking western views of one of Minnesota’s clearest lakes. Whether you're chasing trophy small mouth, cruising on our paddle boards, or relaxing by the fireplace, our cabin offers the perfect getaway!
The space
Our cabin proudly boasts 2,00sq ft of tongue and groove walls and vaulted ceilings with beautiful wood floors offering all the Northwoods vibes you’d hope for.

Upstairs you’ll find a loft overlooking the living room with views to the lake. The loft is fully furnished with a tv and pullout couch. Immediately off of the loft is our second bedroom with a king-sized bed.
Our walkout basement offers guests a family room with a pullout couch, fireplace and a beautiful view to the lake. Adjoining the family room is our third bedroom comprised of a twin over full bunkbed. The basement also includes a full bathroom, as well as a utility room with washer/dryer and second fridge.
Guest access
The entire cabin is yours!
Other things to note
Pets are welcomed at no additional cost! Feel free to bring your dogs along for the fun, but kindly limit it to 2 pets per booking. We do not allow pets on beds or any other furniture. Ensure their paws are clean before they enter the house and be considerate of our rugs. Please clean up after your pet, feel free to use our shovel near the front door to save everyone from stepping on landmines! You will be responsible for any damages caused by your pet at the cost of replacement or repair.

Firewood - We keep a massive amount of firewood on hand for burning in either of our two fireplaces in the cabin. Help yourself to as much as you'd like!

Winter Advisory- If you are planning on staying with us during the winter months we strongly recommend 4 wheel drive. There are plenty of times that 2 wheel drive and good tires would be fine, but please understand that you'd be taking a risk of getting stuck depending on road conditions. Our road and driveway is plowed through the winter - every 4" of accumulation. So as long as you have 4x4 you shouldn't have a problem. Also please note - we do not have anyone that can shovel the walks, porch, decks etc. The driveway will stay cleared - but unfortunately the shoveling is not something we can have done.

Garbage - The one downside to vacationing in God's Country is that we do not have any garbage removal service at our cabin. We require guests to pack out their garbage. We realize that this can be fairly inconvenient and for that we apologize. The cleaning service we use does not offer garbage removal, so we kindly ask that our guests remove their own garbage. Please do not leave it for the next guest to deal with. There is a solid waste transfer station (city dump) located just North of Grand Rapids at:
29959 E. Bass Lake Rd, Grand Rapids MN 55744. Open 8:30am-5:00pm MON - SAT.
If you plan on using the dump - you'll need to buy some dump coupons. These can be purchased at almost any gas station or grocery store in the county.

Help yourself to our paddle boards anytime you want! The boards are kept in the basement bedroom between guest stays to protect them from weathering. Please put them back when you are done using them. We also, have two adult life jackets for use in the laundry room.

No parties are allowed at our cabin. We don’t mind hosting larger gatherings but also, want to keep it family friendly. No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the cabin. We thank you in advance for your consideration and cooperation.

For our outdoor patio we have cushions and a umbrella that are stored in the left corner of our entry way. Please feel free to use them for your stay! We just ask that they be brought back indoors if there is rain and before you leave. Please be aware that if is a very breezy day the umbrella will likely take flight or break so, we ask that it be taken down or left inside on those days.

Safety considerations:
The railings on our deck are spaced out a little wider than we'd prefer for small children. Please keep this in mind when booking if you have little ones. We have an 18 month old and haven't had any issues, but it is something we want you to be aware of.
There are several tiered retaining walls going down to the lake approx 2-3' high. The retaining walls do not have any railings on them so please plan accordingly if you have children playing around them.
During your stay at this cabin, you're just a quick walk from Turtle Lake. Free WiFi and a kitchen are available in the cabin.
  • The cabin offers a kitchen, a washing machine, and 2 bathrooms
  • Free WiFi
  • Onsite recreation includes a playground
  • Just a 5-minute walk from Turtle Lake and a 4-minute drive from Edge of the Wilderness Discovery Center
This cabin offers its guests barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.

This Bigfork cabin is smoke free.

Great get away!
Beautiful home in a remote quiet area with lots of privacy. The lake is absolutely beautiful, crystal clear, with so many loons to see. My kids are older and we swam off the dock daily. If you had little kids swimming from shore, it may be too weedy, jumping off dock was no issue for us and provided hours of fun of our trip! The house is gorgeous, shout out to whoever picked the decor and linens, this home has everything you would need for your stay. Thank you for allowing dogs, our dogs had a blast also!

Peaceful Getaway!
Loved the style of Jason’s cabin. It’s very comfortable with the convenience of everything you need. Our favorite spots were the deck and dinner table with beautiful views while eating our meals together. I also loved sitting in the living looking out at the lake and enjoyed the beautiful fireplace mantle. Upstairs loft was also a fun place to hang out and swing in comfortable wicker chair. We also had the chance to have a bonfire, and used the paddle boards. We definitely enjoyed boating and fishing on Turtle Lake. It’s one of the clearest lake in Minnesota I believe! Thank you Jason for a wonderful vacation! We’d love to come again!
