The Cougar Den is pure mountain luxury. It is suitable for up to eight guests looking for an extravagant mountain experience. The modern rustic decor maximizes comfort and promotes the highest levels of relaxation. The house is around 1600 square feet with an open floor plan; you'll have plenty of space to unwind.

Is The Cougar Den the right place for children?
The Cougar Den is the perfect place for children and families. There's ample entertaining space in the living room, and the guest bedroom is equipped with plenty of entertainment if the adults require some "adult" time. The washer and dryer are handy in case the kids have an accident or want to rock their favorite outfit every day.
Can we cook at the Cougar Den?
Yes! You'll love the flexibility of being able to go out or stay in to cook. The kitchen has pots, pans, plates, glassware, utensils. If you're unsure about what we might have, ask us. The gas range and oven gives you the ability to whip up a meal for eight or a beautiful brunch. You'll have no problem feeding the hungry bears.
We provide a coffeemaker, toaster, and microwave.
Are the fireplaces functional?
Yes, there's no better feeling than relaxing in front of the fire after a day in nature. Both are gas powered and will keep the mountain vibes flowing throughout the evening.
Should I bring linens or towels?
Nobody wants to travel with their sheets and pillowcases. Our linens will rival any hotel, and our cleaning crew will take care of everything when you leave. We provide linens for all beds and we wash every piece of bedding before your visit. We'll also make sure there are plenty of towels for everyone.
What's the television/movie situation?
T.V. is optional in Big Bear but you won't miss anything on our three HD televisions. All three are equipped with cable (Youtube TV) and Netflix. There's plenty to watch if you want to.
Please note: For guests safety the front door area is monitored by video.
Guests will have access to the entire house, backyard, and garage.
We like to give our guests space during their stay and we're always available as we are local.
The house is situated in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Big Bear, lower moonridge. You'll have easy access to the mountain resorts, the new Big Bear zoo, and village. Go for a walk and experience some local flavor.
Cars, boats, bikes, skis, or snowshoes are the preferred methods of transportation. Additionally, there is a shuttle to Bear Mountain Ski Area and Snow Summit Ski Area about two blocks away, a trolley that picks up close by, taxis, and the local bus system. Nearly everything you will want to see or do is within 3 miles of the cabin.

Early Check In-Late Check-Out: We appreciate that you'd like to spend as much time as you can at the house and at times we can provide an early check-in and late checkout for an additional fee. If you've not paid this fee and had it confirmed by us that you can check in early or checkout late you're not permitted to check into the cabin before 3 p.m. and must checkout at 11 a.m. If you enter before 3 p.m. or stay beyond 11 a.m. we reserve the right to charge your security deposit
Quiet Hours: We love it when guests enjoy the house! Quiet hours in this neighborhood begin at 10 p.m. and end at 8 a.m. Any violation of this ordinance will result in loss of security deposit and eviction. If this is not a fit for your stay we'd recommend booking a different location.
Smoking: Please, please do not smoke in our house. If the cleaning crew smells smoke after your visit there is an excess charge of two hundred and fifty dollars.
Trash: All trash and recycling must be removed by you to one of the 2 disposal stations in Big Bear. We apologize for the inconvenience. This is a city ordinance. Fire House #2 (across from the Civic Center on Big Bear Blvd.) Big Bear Disposal, 41974 Garstin Road If trash is not removed from the cabin there is a fee of one hundred dollars or twenty-five dollars per bag whichever is greater.
The maximum number of cars we can accommodate is three. Any violation of this will result in a loss of security deposit.
The maximum number of people the cabin can accommodate is eight. Any violation of this at any time during your stay can result in eviction and loss of security deposit.
