The Craftsman Farmhouse with Modern Flair

Summary:
Take in the best of mountain living while staying a in a craftsman-styled farmhouse, a short walk from an historic resort town’s main street.

Your accommodations will be in an architect’s dream: a 1930 Craftsman era home with architectural details with retro-modern furnishings and artwork—exhibiting true attention to craft & detail.

The Space:
Comfortably host up to a dozen friends and family at the huge 8-foot long dining table (with dovetail inlays!), plenty of place settings and an extra-large 6-burner gas stove for the chef in your life! Bring your little ones, too: we have all the dining and entertaining amenities small children will need.

Relax with plenty of privacy, with 6 sleeping rooms--and a separate enclosed porch --when you need to get away for a few minutes.

You will love the easy-to-use features—such as the open kitchen shelving and the glass hutch—everything you need will be easy to find, with no searching through cupboards! The bedrooms are named, so they are easy to identify.

Rest easy at the end of your daily adventures in luxurious bedding with 300-count sateen sheets, contemporary duvet covers and, of course, two pillows per person. All bedrooms have closets, dressers and fun light fixtures. A few have chairs or workspaces.

The home automation will make your stay a breeze—punch in your personal access code whenever you arrive—stream movies on smart-tv, and rest easy as the smart thermostat turns up when you’re home. Even the wifi password is easy to type with your thumbs.

Guest Access:
Make yourself at home on the wrap-around veranda and enjoy al fresco dining, or just watch the sun glint off the trees. Or feel the call of our quarter acre grassy field: whether enjoying a game of bocce, pushing the kids on the swings or sitting by the fire-pit, you’ll appreciate the connection to nature right outside your door.

You can bask in the easy access to the best of mountain life with this in-town farmhouse-- you’ll only be a 5-minute walk from a quintessential New England corner-store, artisanal coffee shop, historic theater (with some great live show and movies) and a range of dining options from semi-upscale to pizza and tacos.

Drink in the views of Mt. Washington as you stroll down the highest main street east of the Rockies, enjoying the Victorian architecture of this popular historic destination. Today you can enjoy the two in-town golf courses, snowmobile trails, or easy to moderate walking trails—all without having to get in your car! The village has some great family-friendly recreation facilities—take the kids to the pool, get in a pick-up basketball game, or trade some volleys on the tennis court. There’s also ice-skating in the winter, and even a skate-park that would make even the most sullen teenager smile.

The Neighborhood:
If you are looking to vacation in the White Mountains, you already know about the great skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, cycling, fishing and fresh mountain air. We have easy access to all of that—and Route I-93, to boot.

We’ll provide a guide to some of our favorite activities in the region. If you have a hankering for a little more civilization, we have a list of recommendations in the revitalized former mill-town of Littleton. From dining at a hip-brew pub, to shopping for mountaineering (or fashion) accessories, or visiting the world’s longest candy counter—the town makes a great excursion. And you have easy access to supermarkets, pharmacies & big-box stores for restocking on provisions.

Getting Around:
While you can access an awesome number of vacation amenities on foot once you're here, you'll probably need a car to get here... and out to some of the other great attractions within 30 minutes.

Other Things to Note:
-The "Washington" Bedroom can be made up as two twins or a king. Unless you request otherwise, you'll get it as a king. (But don't worry if you forget-- the twin beddings will still be there for you!)
-There is a carriage house is behind main house- you may very well still have the grounds to yourself, or you could have a neighbor for the week. There are separate parking areas, and zones of the yard too, so you can be as social, or as private, as you like.
-Speaking of neighbors, we have some strict policies regarding disturbing our year-round neighbors. If you think that will be a problem for your group… well, it’ll probably be a problem.
-New Hampshire Meals & Rental Tax License #062540
-Smoke Fine of up to $500 to clean and launder this 6 bedroom house.
-The house does not have Air Conditioning, but does have ceiling fans in the common space and bedrooms (plus supplemental box fans). The mountain climate is not often warm enough to need these.
-Thermostat maximum is 72 degrees. A wood stove and space-heaters are provided for supplemental heat.

Interaction with Guests:
You will be sent an access code for the keypad lock.
We manage this property remotely, so you likely won't be running into us up there (unless we're visiting the other unit). We're available through the app, and we have local staff to support any emergencies.
During your stay at this vacation home, you're just a quick walk from Bethlehem Heritage Society Museum. Enjoy your stay with amenities like a kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms in the vacation home.
  • The vacation home offers a kitchen, a washing machine, and 1.5 bathrooms
  • Steps from Bethlehem Heritage Society Museum and 10 minutes by foot from Colonial Theater
This vacation home offers its guests barbecue grills and a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.

Great Location
I stayed with my husband and 4 daughters during our exploration of New Hampshire. We were coming from Flume Gorge which was about 20 minutes from the property. The home is as listed. It is an older home with no air conditioning, but it rained the night we were there, so by opening the windows and starting the fans we were all comfortable. The home had everything we needed or wanted, everything was well labeled and the space was comfortable for our family.

Perfect
My family and I had a wonderful stay for 2 nights at the end of February. We were in town to visit ice castles, celebrate my 6 year old’s birthday and also decided to check out the cog railway on mount Washington. We were a group of 5 adults, 4 children ranging from 3-12 yrs old. We were under the impression there was only one bathroom, but were pleasantly surprised to find a half bathroom on the first floor. The home is well stocked with many thoughtful items, extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, plenty of linens too. It was tastefully and thoughtfully decorated as well, my sister and I were both happy to have a little tray on each bedside table for small items like headphones, etc. we also found a toy chest in the living room, which was great for keeping the little ones occupied. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean. I liked that the floors were hardwood since my youngest has allergies and sensitive skin, he tends to flare up anytime we travel. The home is very bright with lots of natural light, it’s really lovely, but the only improvement I would suggest is maybe some light blocking shades, since our youngest still naps, we improvised and put some blankets in the windows so he could fall asleep and it worked like a charm. Overall it was a very nice place to come back to after chasing our kids around NH. We would definitely book again!

The house was comfortable with plenty of room for us. We especially loved the porches, both the outdoor front porch and the enclosed sideporch which became a quiet nook.

Farm house
There was plenty of rooms for all 8 of us. The upstairs bathroom could use updating. The online photo has been photoshopped cause the front porch has rot and peeling paint and there are missing shingles on the exterior siding. Overall it was satisfactory though. The owner was very nice and accommodating and easy to communicate with.

Amazing stay!!!
We spent our vacation here and everything was amazing. Plenty of board games to play after a day of exploring, the location was perfect, and the commercial stove/oven in the kitchen was fantastic. Thank you so much for a memorable vacation.

Great stay
Owners were great with communication. Easy to find location , clean , warm , well stocked , plenty of towels . The internet was down but wasn’t their fault it was an issue in town. This wasn’t really a problem since we skied all day and owner was great with communication regarding issue. Overall great stay and would stay again.

Bethlehem Mountain House
We really enjoyed the property. The house was large enough for our family of ten to sleep comfortably and located within 30-60 minutes of all of the mountains we planned to ski. Property management team was extremely helpful and communication with them was great.

Great Stay
Very nice home! it located right off of Main Street in Bethlehem which is the perfect location to walk across the street to Rek-lis brewery, two coffee shops, and the general store. It is also only about a mile down the street from two golf courses. There is a lot of yard space to play lawn games and hang out. There is a great fire pit with seats around it. The home inside was very clean and accommodating with laminated notes everywhere to help you with your stay, including how to work the industrial stove which was amazing! The single thing I did not like was that there was only a charcoal grill. I would definitely stay here again!

Cleanliness an Issue
Pros: extremely well stocked, lots of room, walking distance to all town offerings Cons: not nearly as clean as looked in vrbo pictures, especially the porches. Grill unusable.

Good house for a ski trip
We were two families of 4 and the house worked out well. The house was very clean, the location near town was nice, and parking was easy. The stove is awesome, and the big table and kitchen accommodated meals and game playing. The walkway got a bit icy/watery at the bottom of the steps, and the floors were a bit uneven in parts, but all-in-all it hit the spot.

Peaceful spot close to plenty of fun!
Our group had a great time. The house was exactly what we were expecting based on the listing. It was close enough to the main drag in Bethlehem to walk over and have dinner. It was spacious and comfortably slept 6 adults. The check in process and communication was all great and made everything very easy. If you're headed up to northern NH this is an excellent place to stay!

We stayed with our children ranging in age from 21 - 3, there was enough room for everyone and everyone felt at home. Communication with the host was easy and they are quick to answer with questions. The home is cozy with enough room to spread out. The kitchen is great and had everything We needed to make a few meals while we were there, great location, we were at the mountain in minutes. I highly recommend!!
