National Geographic called it the Switzerland View of America. Situated as it is at the very
pinnacle of the Prospect Peak overlook, this house is an architectural gem designed to make
the best of this vast unobstructed panorama. Spectacular as this view is it is just one of the
natural wonders in the area that inspired George Washington and his family to purchase much
of the land that today makes up Berkeley Springs West Virginia. Virtually everything you will find
in the distant western states you will also find here; hiking in majestic forests, fishing, boating,
horseback riding, skiing; but here you will also find the magical medicinal hot springs that the
area is famous for. The American Indians believed these waters had significant curative
powers and they used them to treat a wide range of ailments. Indeed, scientific studies have
confirmed that these waters contain a unique combination of 12 minerals. These hot springs
run freely through Berkeley Springs park where there are a number of spas for bathing.
The house is located only seven minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs. A number of
artists and interior designers have contributed to its decor.
The house has three bedrooms and two and a half baths. Additionally there is an upstairs
living room area and a childrens room. The master bedroom and the larger upstairs bedroom
have queen beds. The other upstairs bedroom has twin beds. In the master bedroom in addition
ti the queen bed there is a sleeper couch for one person and a fireplace. The large living room
also has a fireplace and a sleeper couch. The upstairs living area has a sleeper couch as well.
The childrens room has enough space to sleep two kids. Plus a washer and dryer.
The kitchen is fully equipped. Perched atop the Panorama Overlook is a covered deck. .
