Casa Bambú Resort is excellently positioned to explore this beautiful mountainous part of rural Andalucia, an area known as the Axarquia. Just 15 minutes to the nearest of several lovely and lively coastal towns, 10 minutes to the Moorish city of Velez-Malaga and amidst countryside which is home to many of the quaint white villages for which Andalucia is famed.

There are a wide choice of beaches nearby: the large sandy beaches of Torre del Mar and Rincon de la Victoria, the pretty coves of Nerja, the quiet undeveloped beaches of Benajarafe and Almayate and the lovely coves of El Palo to where the Malagueňos escape the city.
Elegant and attractive Malaga City, the birthplace of Picasso is approximately a half hour drive away.

This truly is the real Spain, the real Andalucia, a fascinating cultural holiday destination, and a million miles from the tourist ghetto that is the Costa del Sol.

For guests who like to get out and about and do a bit of sightseeing, we do recommend you hire a car.
However if you prefer not to or don’t drive, we offer an airport pick-up service and public transport or taxis can be used for exploring the area. Indeed, some guests, those looking for complete relaxation, enjoy spending their entire holiday at Casa Bambú Resort with just the occasional shopping trip or evening out in Benamocarra. Mountain bikes can also be hired in Torre del Mar for getting around, either for the day or for the whole of your holiday.

Whether you wish for a holiday of relaxing and chilling or prefer something more physically or culturally active, then Bambú has it all.
