If you want panoramic views, privacy, and nature, then High Pointe Bellaire is our fantastic option for you.
Our home with a lower level apartment is perfect for larger families or two smaller families to reunite!
The space(s) – Two separate levels - two separate prices
1 - Main Level $500 per night. Three bedrooms with four beds. 1 king, 2 Queen, one full. Maximum capacity eight guests.
2 - Main level plus the Lower level Flat add $150 per night for total nightly charge $650.00 plus $100 additional cleaning fee. Lower-level flat has 1 Queen and 1 King bed in the same room.
Both levels have kitchens, living space, and full baths.
We can often accommodate our main-level guests who request to rent the additional lower apartment space. For an extra $150 per night (plus $100 cleaning fee), you have access to the entire 3400 SF home (both main and lower level). Please take a look below for more description of the lower level. We never rent the lower level to other guests if you have reserved our main level home. However, we reserve our lower flat for personal use if you do not add it to your reservation. We keep a low profile; you can use the entire deck, gazebo, and fire pit exclusively. The two units are entirely separated by a deadbolt locked door at the bottom of the stairway from the main level.
Many guests with parties of 8 or under still request the lower level as it provides almost double the space and they have exclusive use of the entire home. Our main level home, which has a deck, a gazebo, and an incredible view, is the principal guest attraction. We have a better view of Lake Bellaire from the main level than from the Shanty Creek Lake View Restaurant & Bar. Our main level provides ample space for sleeping of 8 persons and fewer. If your party is over 8, you must lease both units.
During the summer months, June - August, and the Winter season, December 15 - March 15, we require a minimum 4-day stay.
We use hospital-grade disinfectants to clean our entire home before guests arrive. All beds have duvet covers for comforters, which are washed and bleached before every guest arrival.
Feel free to contact us with any other questions including modification of our four-night minimum stay.
Main Level
From the moment you enter, you’ll be captivated by the panoramic views & feel at home with the warmth of the natural materials. A blend of tongue & groove cedar wood on the walls & ceilings, along with touches of drywall, create a welcoming & warm environment.
The wall of windows & the grand natural stone fireplace invites you to step into the sunken living room to relax and take in the panorama overlooking Lake Bellaire. Spring, Summer Winter or Fall this incredible Lakescape picture will keep you coming back. The stone fireplace extends to the vaulted ceilings & is a handsome accent to both the living and dining rooms.
Whether prepping a meal in the kitchen, entertaining guests in the dining room, living room, or lower level, your attention will always be captured by the vistas. The kitchen enjoys cabinetry that was hand-crafted by a local artisan. People might even offer to help with the dishes as the views are just as stunning from there. There is plenty of space for more than one cook, & a side door allows convenient access to the surrounding multi-level deck.
The main floor offers three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms, large laundry room w/washer, dryer, wash tub & plenty of storage.
Bedroom One has queen size bed and one large window with amazing view overlooking a dramatic elevation drop of the surrounding forest.
Bedroom Two has both queen and full-size beds with two large windows one overlooking the lake and the other window showing valleys and woods that surround our home.
The Master Bedroom (Bedroom Three) enjoys plentiful closet space, en suite full bathroom & window door wall access to the deck so you can step out for a breath of fresh air. The views from both windows have extraordinary panoramic lake and forest views.
Lower level
You will find a sizable family room with TV on the lower level. The large sectional sofa has a built-in recliner chair for the TV and a sleeper foam mattress fold-out bed. It has a full kitchen and a 13 x 18 ft sleeping room area with side by side king- and queen-size beds. Vertical blinds can be used to privatize the bed area from the kitchen/ living room area. There is a full bath and even a sauna. This lower level is a separate suite. It can be used as an additional guest quarter. The massive stone fireplace also accents the lower-level family room. Step outside to a lawn area with outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the panoramic views of Lake Bellaire. The evenings are a good time to gather around the nearby outdoor fire pit.
Outdoor space
Imagine kicking back on 1400 SF of deck where you can peacefully relax while taking in the breath-taking views and panorama. Wildlife frequents the property. Bald Eagles, red hawks, deer, foxes abound …. a view that you’ll never grow tired of. Summit and Schuss Mountains in the distance east and the Torch Lake Cellars winery settled on a mountain top across the Lake from our home to the west. There is a 20 x 12 foot gazebo on our deck which is our favorite place in the house. It’s an outdoor living room with the same spectacular views we’ve been talking about. We have both living and dining furniture under this covered porch which has the most remarkable views of Lake Bellaire!
Many updates have been made within the last four years, to include a new gazebo, deck stain, water boiler, A/C, carpet & bathroom flooring.
Our second home is a perfect family getaway anytime of the year. Since it is our second home, you’ll find all the creature comforts that make for relaxed and comfortable living.
Things to do
Of course, there is lots to do in this exceptional part of northern Michigan and very close by. Swimming and boating in Lake Bellaire in Central Intermediate Chain of Lakes and Torch Lake all are just minutes away and these are just to name a few. Antrim county has more lakes than any other county in Michigan.
This is a wonderful place to spend the winter holidays. It’s a most beautiful time of the year here. BUT ONLY IF you have FOUR-WHEEL or ALL WHEEL DRIVE, with all season tires. Most of the time snow is not an issue, but you never know with Mother Nature. We use a reliable snow removal company, but with this house, you should have all-wheel or 4 4-wheel drive to navigate the drive up and down the hill, just in case of an ice storm. Salt and sand barrels are strategically located along our private drive for this situation.
The views during the winter are Icelandic, which I find more beautiful than the summer. You see the snow-covered lake under the moon and the stars at night. It’s almost pitch dark out there, which is so cool because there are hardly any house lights around the lake during the winter. This is especially true on our side of the lake, mainly comprised of wetlands, preventing residential development along the lake waterfront. My absolute favorite time is Autumn when the enveloping forest explodes with yellows, reds, and orange. Our home is positioned on top of a hill that boasts the most breathtaking views of Lake Bellaire, which are astounding all year round. It’s one of the most unique panoramic views you will ever see.
