4/10 Poor

Tired, scruffy apartment in a lovely location - just needs some TLC!
Our first impression of the property upon arrival was that it was in a very nice location - Sa Punta, which is about 1.5km from Pals Beach and a 15 minute drive from Begur, but unfortunately it had not been maintained very well - the paint on the front door was scratched and and inside, one of the living room walls was damaged with a gouge in the plaster and cracks below and above. Everything felt like it was at least 20 years old. Throws on the sofa (which were actually sofa beds but this was not mentioned anywhere) had holes in them, as did the towels in the bathroom (no hand towels supplied either). There was no information in the apartment about how to operate the oven, electric awning or the air conditioning (which thankfully did work throughout our stay, as this was an essential item for us). The kitchen was very basic and we quickly discovered the thermostat in the oven was broken so all our food was burnt, regardless of the temperature setting.
However, when we reported these problems to the managing agents, Ceigrup Torrent, in Pals town, they did endeavour to sort them out reasonably quickly, and they were always pleasant and helpful, but it was two weeks into a 3 week holiday before we returned to the apartment to find a new oven had been installed.
The small outside terrace was okay but the view of the sea is largely obscured by the block of villas in front of the apartment, despite the steeply-sloping site.
The communal pool at the front of the estate was welcome for a cool-off dip, but we found the short 15 minute walk along the coast path to the delightful Sa Riera beach by far the better option.
In short, we felt the apartment was disappointing - and expensive (but admittedly it did have a/c which adds a premium). However, with some comprehensive updating and modernisation it could be much, much better, especially with it being located in such a wonderful spot.
