Hotel has had a cosmetic update, but the beds are very uncomfortable and the door locks stick. Our first room was so uncomfortable and the door so difficult to open we requested a room change. When we received the keys to the second room they would not work. Went back to office and the clerk made another set and told us, “if these don’t work you’ll just have to wait, I’m too busy to deal with this”. Luckily the second set worked. Also, all the ice makers are broken.

Property seemed to be older and in need of some freshening up. There was an unpleasant odour in the hallways- likely from the carpet. The bathtub had been resurfaced, with much of it peeling away and very grey and dirty looking. A good but very basic breakfast.

The room was great, clean and new. However, the bathroom needed a lot of work. Dirt in the corners, rust in the tub, ceiling painted two different colors, dirt in the vent that got on the towels. The linens could have use some bleach to get rid of the stains that were on both the sheets and the towels.

What went wrong: Tried to check in at 5:30 and our room was not available yet. Filthy bathtub and very small bathroom. Couldn’t find tv remote and the staff told us to look harder since they didn’t have extra….hubby found it under the bed and had to use a hanger to retrieve it. No apologies for the delayed check in or the lost remote. What went right: The breakfast was good and kept well filled. Morning staff was pleasant Hotel is in a convenient location but we would never consider going there again

Stopped here as an affordable place to stay halfway between North Carolina and Ohio. The staff were friendly. The hotel was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast could’ve been better. They were out of several items. Recommend The Campestre restaurant down the street for dinner.
