This large, five-bedroom holiday home enjoys a peaceful setting on a small farm, just outside the South Yorkshire village of Silkstone. The pet-friendly property sleeps up to ten guests and makes a fantastic rural retreat for groups of friends or families holidaying together. The converted barn boasts stunning views across the valley, encompassing rolling hills, woodlands, and the nearby golf course. The surrounding landscape is a paradise for keen walkers, and you’ll also be within easy reach of the northern edge of the Peak District National Park. Nearby Peak District highlights include Mam Tor and the beautiful Hope Valley (25 miles), as well as the magnificent show caves at Blue John Cavern (26 miles). The village of Silkstone has a number of traditional pubs and small shops, or for further shopping and dining options head into the cathedral city of Wakefield (13 miles). There are some great attractions close to the holiday home, including Yorkshire Sculpture Park (7.5 miles) and the National Trust’s Wentworth Castle (4 miles).
The redbrick barn conversion has been stylishly decorated and furnished, combining striking contemporary design with the barn’s original features. The ground floor is a large, open-plan living space comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can all spread out and relax after a day of exploring. At the far end is a fabulous kitchen with a vaulted ceiling, skylights, and everything needed to cater for a large group. At the opposite end of the room is a gorgeous, wooden dining table for hosting dinner parties and special occasions, perfectly positioned next to an impressive picture window. Occupying the central hub of the ground floor is an inviting lounge area with comfortable sofas nestled around a Smart TV. Patio doors open onto the garden, inspiring indoor/outdoor living during summer months. The property has four relaxing king-size bedrooms, one of which is positioned on the ground floor and shower room adjacent to the bedroom. You’ll find the remaining king-size bedrooms, along with a bunk bedroom, on the first floor. This level also has a sleek shower room.
Outside, the enclosed garden has a decked area with outdoor furniture, as well as a private hot tub to unwind in after a long walk. There’s also a lawn area where children and dogs can play. Private parking is available at the property.
