Casa Antonia is a small country house of approximately 120 square meters, located in Zahora (a hamlet of Barbate), a very quiet, family-friendly, yet centrally located area. This little house is affectionately named after my mother, and we enjoyed many happy years here as a family.
The exterior design has been restored, respecting its original form. The interior has been completely renovated to make it truly welcoming, so that when you visit, you'll feel right at home.
You arrive at a tiled patio of about 40 square meters and a small covered porch, ideal for enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and a good meal or barbecue. The barbecue is made of stone and is only suitable for charcoal. Please do not use firewood, as it will damage the structure.
Firewood for the fireplace is provided during the winter months, 50 kilos per week. Please feel free to use it.
The porch is equipped with a teak table and chairs, and there is a small ramp leading up to the porch for people with reduced mobility or to facilitate entry for parents with a baby stroller.
Welcome to Casa Antonia! You're now in the open-plan living and dining room, which is very welcoming and spacious, with a fireplace, 3000 BTU air conditioning, and heating, installed in March 2024.
The 55" Smart TV, also purchased in March 2024, is configured to connect to your country's channels, Netflix, etc. Perfect for everyone. This is a much-appreciated service, especially for guests staying longer (up to two months).
The fiber optic internet connection is quite good, perfect for anyone who needs to work online.
In October and November of 2025, the house underwent a complete renovation. This included the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, mosquito nets, doors, interior and exterior paint, and a touch of decoration. Now, white tones predominate, while the sunlight and the light from the crystal lamps provide the color. I paid special attention to personalized decor and comfort, providing two bottle-green faux leather sofas to make you feel right at home.
The kitchen is a newly renovated part of the house, offering more space and a beautiful result. It is equipped with all necessary appliances: refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, ceramic hob, extractor fan, and water dispenser. Bottled water is also included; you will always have 80 liters available. If you need more during your stay, please contact me 24 hours in advance, leave the empty bottles at the entrance of the property, and I will deliver it personally.
The kitchen has all the necessary utensils; pots, pans, plates, cutlery, glasses, wine glasses, two types of coffee makers, toaster, water heater, blender, juicer, iron.
Casa Antonia has two bedrooms and an office with a sofa bed. It comfortably accommodates four people in very comfortable beds. Each bedroom has a wardrobe with extra blankets, clean towels, hangers, and space for luggage.
Bed sheets, bath towels, and blankets are also included. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. However, you can rest assured that you will sleep in comfortable beds with clean sheets and towels.
The master bedroom has a second air conditioning unit (3000 BTU) and heating, and the office is adjacent. It includes a comfortable sofa bed (120 cm), a small desk, a router, fiber optic internet with a very good connection of 28 Mbps, and an extra portable heater for winter, ideal for working from home, for a child, or for an adult—use it as you need.
The bathroom is very colorful, renovated in November 2025, with a sliding door access, also adapted for people with reduced mobility. The shower is on one level. It has everything necessary, including a hairdryer, first-aid kit, etc.
The washing machine and dryer are located in a small exterior room on the side of the house. There is also an area for drying clothes. You can make use of a portable clothesline inside the house.
In this exterior area, there is a cold-water shower, ideal for cooling off in summer.
All the windows in the house are secure and have new mosquito nets, replaced in November 2025. I advise keeping them closed at all times.
The front door also has curtains (to keep out annoying insects and mosquitoes, typical of summer).
In February 2025, I also invested in waterproofing the exterior roof of the house, thinking about the cooler season.
Winters have it all: they're usually sunny, cool, damp, and with intermittent rain. It's pleasant to light the fireplace or turn on the heating, and you can use the included amenities if needed. These are months of rest, and many restaurants close. It's a time of calm, perfect for long, peaceful walks along the wonderful beaches of this region, hiking in La Breña, biking, surfing, windsurfing, paddle surfing, and more.
The sea borders the Cape, the tombolo, and the Trafalgar Lighthouse, a place you'll always want to visit, as well as La Breña, La Torre del Tajo, La Torre de Meca, and others.
Summers in Zahora are hot, but the house is cool, and you can use the air conditioning if you need it. The air conditioning filter is cleaned annually by a maintenance service. Take advantage of the outdoor shower after returning from the beach; it's much appreciated and valued by many guests.
The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk away, although you can also drive; there are nearby parking areas monitored by staff.
A well-marked rural walk. You'll stroll past family-friendly leisure areas like "El Zaraho" and "La Venta Curro," as well as markets that will lead you directly to the spectacular Zahora beach.
Spring and autumn are warm and pleasant; for me, they are among the best seasons of the year in this still-pristine paradise that is Zahora.
Enjoy birdwatching; the Northern Bald Ibis migrates from Europe to Barbate, passing through Zahora.
Casa Antonia is equipped to accommodate any visitor year-round.
A variety of restaurants are located along the seafront: Sajorami Beach, La Pluma, Amarna, Kalima. Enjoy a day at the beach and an unforgettable sunset. Live music, a mojito, and appetizers await. You'll always feel like family.
You can explore by bicycle along the bike path that connects all the villages and hamlets from Conil to Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes, a perfect destination for hiking and cycling enthusiasts.
Visit Vejer de la Frontera, Barbate, Zahara de los Atunes, Bolonia, Tarifa, Conil de la Frontera, and Medina Sidonia. It's well worth visiting our charming towns with their historical, artistic, and national significance, and savoring the excellent cuisine of the province and Cádiz. You won't be disappointed.
Casa Antonia is located in a very quiet, family-friendly, yet central area, on a cul-de-sac, so traffic is minimal.
For me, one of the best areas in Zahora.
A haven of peace.
If you want to disconnect and find tranquility, this is your little house.
