we were on our way through from Amsterdam New York to Halifax Nova Scotia. Had booked this as a one night stop over. Very nice property and people. Room was great. Had hot coffee in the lobby at 6:00 am. And a bar. With great cocktails, and lots of information. We were told to take the -less travelled road- hwy 9,to the border and cross at Calais Maine into Canada. Great scenic drive and easy crossing. I would recommend the Bangor Grande to anyone looking to stay in the Bangor area. Oh, we also learned the proper way to say...Bangor... from the bartender.

I can bring my 10lb Bichon and there is a designated dog poopy bucket and bags. Plenty of grass. Nice people the front desk. The food is delicious.. Win, Win.

Good job!
This place is very nice! Loved the Blue sky for breakfast! Eating dinner in the bar was very noisy, too bad the dining room wasn't open. But the food was excellent! Only thing that could be better is a handicap push button to open the front doors! They are very heavy, and created a challenge for me and my husband. Staff was very nice, and room was very clean! Thank you!

I found the property to be just ok. I stayed three nights and never did they clean the room, even though i asked them to. I told them my hair dryer was broke and they never replaced it. It is a tired hotel. Food in the restaurant not great and wait staff slow Overall not impressed.

Pets OK? Coffee Great!
Clean rooms, friendly staff. Pet friendly. Not that I care as the room does have carpeting, so expect pet smells. Pool is clean and warm. Bar/restaurant has good food and drinks, but filled with locals, be prepared to hear Bangor drama. Take shower at night as the water heaters are overworked in the AM. Complimentary coffee is better than DnD.

My sister was getting in late from a west coast flight, so I called the hotel to verify that they had a 24/7 shuttle. The man I spoke with said they did and that she should call when she got in. She called.4 different numbers, left messages and never got anyone. There are no Ubers or taxis in Bangor at that time of night and she finally got a ride from the bus for the holiday inn. There was no one at the desk from she got in after 1 am. The woman finally arrived (in the shuttle!) and said she had no staff. Also, there is NO elevator in this facility. I would never use this facility again.
