Hotel with problems

We stayed in the hotel for 4 days and we had been trapped in the elevator twice in two different days. There was one false fire alarm in one mid night after we fall asleep. There was no power in one evening for nearly 2 hours. After power was resumed, the air-conditioning was no function properly for an hour. The sound insulation is terrible. Lot of noise from trains, car and motorbikes making it difficult to get asleep.

The staff was friendly, the person that cleaned was room was wonderful. Great location! My only problem was the lift/elevator. There are 37 floors if I remember correctly and only two elevator, so it was always a long wait to go up or come down.

Lovely hotel. Location good . Again drink outside much cheaper , don’t use mini bars etc . Extremely expensive . Soft drinks in local shop only 17 bhat . In hotels at least 200 bhat , same with alcohol, very expensive

A bit noisy when you can still hear some bar singers singing at 2am around the area and I already stayed at the 16/F. Not the property's problem, just becoz it locates around numbers of restaurant. Overall, just 5 mins walk from the station and big mall nearby, still a good spot to stay. Need to book in advance for the spa near the hotel since it is quite fully booked!

5 Star Staff, 3 Star Building. Great restaurant.

First of all let me say 5 stars for the staff who are always excellent. I stay here quite often, but this visit revealed that the hotel is aging fast. I checked into my Panorama room to find the paint peeling away all the way along the curtain box, the rear wallpaper was buckled, it just looked cheap. The Continent is advertised as 5 stars but really, it needs a serious upgrade to compete with the 5 star hotels nearby. It hurts me to write that, I always like staying here as it feels more 'Thai' than the usual Carlton, Hilton etc which are cookie cutter hotels - but they are indeed 5 star cookie cutters. I asked to be moved from my room, and ended up in a room with no peeling paint...but other imperfections that made me wonder why I spend so much to stay here. I was going to to cancel the entire reservation, but because it was booked through Hotels.com it was too much hassle and I needed to rest after 27 hours of travel. So I just stayed. At the front desk Great upgraded me to the Sky benefits which was appreciated. Like I said the staff are all wonderful. Chris at the door. Beer at the restaurant. But the water isn't hot quite often, the entrance tiles are cracking, some lights above the check in counter are missing - the place needs some work. For now, I'm sorry to say The Continent has lost my business. I hope it improves so I can come back.

Great location.. Great comfortable bed.. beautiful view.. shower room 715 is leaking through toilets.. great friendly hotel..staff very helpful and accommodate the valet service. Very small pool.. limited seating area away from smoker's.. great hotel and views.. little bit too pricey for mini bar etc

Relaxing Stay

Hotel is very convenient and very near to Terminal 21 shipping mall and Bangkok public transport BTS and MRT. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Swimmimg pool is rather small. Breakfast selection is good, love their crispy bacon. Room is clean and of descent size Hotel had very nice decoration during Halloween period
