Ok budget hotel med bra pris och med gångavstånd till bla MBK Gallerian. Ligger på en bakgata med väldigt lite trafik, vilket var positivt. Rent och helt ok rum, vi hade rum med balkong. Frukosten var så där. Den stora nackdelen är att det saknas ljudisolering i rummen. Så du kan höra allt som händer i korridorerna nätterna igenom. Vi hade rum mot innergården så vi hörde ingen trafik. Hotellet borde införa tydligare regler kring gästernas beteende under vissa delar av dygnet. Det skriks och pratas nätterna igenom när gästerna kommer tillbaks till hotellet. Ingen hänsyn tas till andra gäster. Men detta kanske hör ihop att det är ett billigare hotell. Men lite isolering hade gjort susen. Fråga inte hotellet om restaurang-rekommendationer. Den som vi fick var helt värdelös, och det är pinsamt att hotellet ens kunde rekommendera det.

Hotel Vela was clean, conveniently located near major malls, and incredibly easy to access. Perfect for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Highly recommend!

Overall, this was not a 4 star hotel. We stayed 3 nights and had no hot water in our room, even after complaining twice. We also booked this hotel because we were able to take advantage if the free tuk tuk service to the train station. However, when we arrived, the hotel said the tuk tuk was ‘broken’. We would have chosen a completely different hotel had we known this. Very disappointed. Staff was really friendly though and the rooms were fairly clean. The hot water and false advertisement was really unacceptable though.

We were disappointed with the area and the swimming pool. We were stopping over fter a long flight and before another long one and couldn't relax by the pool. Had a bit of trouble at first, getting there. The taxi's didn't know where it was. We felt it didn't match the description that made us book.

The staff were super friendly, helpful and respectful. It was the best hotel that I ever stayed in, in my whole life! The breakfast is excellent and the cleaning staff are very hard working. If this hotel had apartments, I would rent from them in a heartbeat! This was the best hotel experience I have ever had by far.

Location away from noisy main road is a positive. Shower clogs and you are ankle deep in your own gray water. Had to shut water off so gray water drains as I washed my hair so I do not flood the entire bathroom floor.

New-looking hotel in Ratchathewi, friendly staff and tuktuk available on-demand 9am-6pm to BTS except Sun and Mon, which is room for improvement. Three 7-11s on the way to BTS, totally convenient!

Great spot. Nice room!

This hotel is great. It is definitely one of the newer hotels in the area, so a little pricier, but completely worth it for the condition of rooms and buildling overall. The AC works great, the balcony is quite nice, and even comes with a built-in laundry drying rack. It's also in a terrific neighborhood, just a short walk from the BTS Skytrain. There are a ton of food options nearby, and it is also within walkable distance of most of the major shopping centres. Bonus- perhaps the most comfortable hotel bed I have EVER slept on. The pool is quite small and basically right in the middle of the open-air lobby/drop-off area, so there's no privacy or space for actual swimming... but perfectly fine for a quick dip to cool down. Overall, a great spot!

The hotel is very nice, appreciated the little extras in the room with comfortable bed and pillows (lacked a clock in the room). The area is challenging to get to attractions and we paid a lot on taxis and tuk tuks. Staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean and modern.

Rooms were very clean and in good condition, breakfast was nice and a good choice menu. Only thing poor was the pool, it was the size of an average jacuzzi, there is no bar so no relaxing by the pool with a coctail.

The room was extremely clean and all the staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The only problem with the stay was a barking dog outside so maybe ask for a room on the top floor. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable. Great value for money

Stayed here for a week with 8 members of my family. Good value for the money. Clean place, friendly staff. a bit of a walk to the BTS, but not terrible. They have a tuk tuk but it was pretty worthless. It only dispatches to the MBK center and doesn't run at all on Sunday or Monday. the driver was apparently unavailable the other times we asked to use it. Never managed to get to use it. The other criticism is that the split unit aircon has the hot side right on the balcony blowing very hot air right on the chairs and table. So you can't cool the room and enjoy the balcony at the same time. But these are minor issues. Breakfast was good. You can ask for eggs (omelettes, scrambled, over easy etc.). I didn't realize that for the first half of the week and the buffet turned out to be plenty even without it. One has to love Pad Thai for breakfast.
