The facilities are mostly new. Males toilet wouldn’t flush without multiple efforts and adding water from hose which is unpleasant when dealing with a communal toilet that has been vomited in.
Unable to get hot water in shower, Luke warm at best.
I like a firm bed but these were beyond hard.
Staff aren’t friendly nor helpful, the entire place smells especially inside the bedroom. I booked a room with a private bathroom which cost me the same if not more than a decent hotel room ( around 50$/night). Room cleaning sign on the door knob only got my bed poorly made with the same sheets, no towel replacement nor tidying up on anything on a 4 night stay. The room looked much older and much less clean than the pictures, always felt damp and always smelled every time I went in. The only good thing about this place is the location. This will be my first and last stay at this hostel.
Large bed, the men shower room on the 2nd floor are larger than the 4th floor. The Locker is also suitable for luggage. Very cheap. The staff on Fri and Sat night is very friendly and talkative.
This was my 2nd time staying at BRB. The condition of the hostel is still good. The shared bathroom need frequent cleaning though. Privacy sleeping on the upper bunk, but be prepared for sudden turn on of lights by inconsiderate guests at night and hardly get any wind as the rotating fan cannot spin at 90 degrees. Neighborhood is very safe. Bed is firm and comfortable. Hostel could prepare recycle bins for plastic bottles.
Pros: Chic Design in Lobby, spacious counter space, private bunks with curtains, locker for luggage, washer/dryer, towel provided, 7 minute walk from BTS station. Great price.
Cons: guests kept mainly to themselves, little social interaction. Staff spoke limited English and did not initiate small talk with guests. 4 floors and no elevator. Men and womens restrooms are staggered by floors.
Seriously, the room stank throughout my stay due to protracted sewage and piping issues. They should have placed some air purifiers or sprayers in the room. The position of the air conditioner is odd causing coughs at all time. Then, the coin-op laundry facility did not have clear instructions and the dryer needs 30 minutes to dry all the clothes, which costs THB60 and the washing of 50 odd minutes costs THB40, with all this, I could easily find a laundrette for THB60 per 1kg in Silom area. Apart from all this, the place is rather carefree and strategic. The staff and cleaning were ok. Nothing much to shout about.
Great environment and good location in silom area with reasonable price. Bed a bit hard and only have one pillow. No safe deposit box, and need to climb stairs to go to bathroom or toilet. Overall cleanliness is good. Overall is good also for the price.
Amazed with the cleanliness of the hostel. The floors and command shower room are maintained very well. Individual cabinet is big to store a cabin-size luggage. Room is always air-conditioned if not cooling. Staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. Thanks for checking on me in the 10-bedroom dorm during the fire alert. I was asleep. My bed was the closest to the building next to the hostel which was on fire. Staff offered some snacks while we waited at the lobby for further instruction from the authority.

Budget stay
This is a good place for people who look for an inexpensive room in Silom area. The hotel is not far from Skytrain and subway stations.
The hostel is very new and modern. Environment is clean and neat!
No noise pollution in night time.
The staff are nice and friendly. They are patient and willing to answer all questions.
Walking to the closest 7-11 is only within one minutes.
Nice place for backpackers and youngsters!
There are differences in the standards of the people who are manning the place. It was pretty good and welcoming when I arrived but the next two days the counter girl as well as housekeeper don't even know how to operate their own tv and cable. The property is decent and fine.
I love the location and their bedding which is a bit firm. It's also very clean and new ... perhaps too new that staff didn't figure how to get things done properly yet when I was there. My checkin took ages and ended with a non-functioning keycard. The dorm room was good size and come with 10 lockers in one corner. That area is basically where everyone put stuff there and could get really jammed at certain times. Upper beds have no rails nor anything to hold yourself and climb up. Shower cubes are a bit exposing that all doors are lightly tinted and kinda slightly seethru. Ventilation in the walkway was not good and even with all shoes off, it was kinda stink a bit (you'll be asked to go bare feet everywhere - even in the wet floor toilets) These can be fixed, I hope. However, on the plus side, I also love one free chilled water when checkin and the generous shelf space at the bed. Enough to fit any of your personal stuff there :) and two electric outlets :) overall, it was a good stay and for the price (10bucks) and location, I think I can overlook all minus I mentioned.
