A really great stay in the centre of Banff. Good access to the centre, the bus to sulphur mountain and beyond- and knowledgeable staff who provided a timetable when asked for advice.

I had the absolute best time staying at Mount Royal!! Like i loved it! Beautiful and the rooftop hot tub is the icing on the cake! And don’t even get me started about their restaurant, Brazen!! I’ve never stayed at a hotel with a restaurant that good. I ate there all but one night that I was in Banff. I was on a solo trip and the restaurant staff was super friendly when i was there, made it feel like there were eating with me. I could go on and on but if you need a sign to book this hotel, this is it, I tend to be picky too. Banff is already so beautiful in itself but staying here will only amplify your experience!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect as it’s on the main street of downtown Banff and you can walk everywhere. The only little negatives is that there are a few stairs in the middle of the hallway so we couldn’t use luggage cart all the way to our room. We had a lot of luggage and we had to bring it down the stairs and do multiple trips to the room. The room was quite small and the tv was on the side of the bed instead of in front. It was not a big deal but inconvenient. Would stay there again on my next trip to Banff though. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I have seen people complain about having to walk a far distance to their rooms inside the hotel. Give me a break. Is it wonky? Yes! But it’s a room you rent for a few days. Deal with it. Perfect spot. Right in the end of busy Banff. Everything is walkable. Clean. Super friendly staff. When I come back In the spring I’ll be staying here.

The location of this hotel is great. The people at the front desk are outstanding, however, everything else? Horrid. The pillows are much smaller than a standard pillow, we had two robes in our room, one of which was old and disgusting. The fridge was clicking all night and kept us up, the walls were paper thin and we could actually hear what the people next to us were saying, there was mold in the shower and the water pressure in the shower was horrible. The hot tub hours are very strange, 10-10 so little time to actually use it if you’re only staying for one night and actually want to go around Banff too. The King room is also horribly small, hardly enough room to walk around if you’re sharing the room with one other person. The parking situation is god awful. You pay $5 a night for parking, they have MAYBE 40 parking spots for the whole hotel, so not nearly enough. If you don’t get a spot with the hotel, well, may the odds be ever in your favour. Park a mile away and pay for parking with the town of Banff. Horrible design and very poorly thought out. Would I ever stay here again? Absolutely not. Go somewhere else, we took a chance on Mount Royal instead of going to other hotels that we know we love, and it was a mistake.
