Spacious and stylish, The Rose House blends the traditional country home with a tribal and exotic feel. The house has been designed for guests to enjoy their own unique room, each with an en-suite bathroom, whilst providing vibrant, photogenic spaces to come together, relax and enjoy.
The space
As well as being a stone's throw from two lovely eateries - The Castle, in Edgehill (just around the corner from the Rose House) and The Rose and Crown in Ratley (5 min walk), the Rose House is also minutes away from Upton House and Gardens and Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park. Stratford-upon-Avon, Daylesford Organic Farmshop and Soho Farmhouse are all just a 30 minute drive away.
Cosy and calm yet rich in colour and texture, The Rose House is superb for entertaining with its large kitchen island, complete with handmade bar stools, stunning, spacious lounge and idyllic outdoor space. Alternatively it makes an exotic hub to explore the Cotswolds and its beautiful surroundings for a longer stay. Perfect for family holidays, small groups or a romantic stay.
The property is spread over three floors; ground floor, first floor and attic.
The space in itself comprises of:
Ground floor:
The lounge is the hub of the Rose House. It features a grand fireplace adorned with African masks and exotic pieces from across the world.
With its large island and bar stools, the kitchen is the perfect shared space for an informal meal and/or evening drinks. It includes all modern amenities including a large fridge, freezer, separate wine fridge and fresh coffee maker. Why not visit the local Cotswolds gin distillery to top up the drinks fridge...
The dining room/botanical breakfast room; a delightfully sunny and tropical space leading on from the kitchen. The space extends into the garden and a unique little outdoor area...
Downstairs toilet and utility room; please feel free to utilise the washing and ironing facilities should you require it.
First floor:
Master Bedroom I; the master suite of the house, this room is as spacious as it is special. Featuring a four poster bed and the pièce de résistance, a crystal bathtub.
Master Bedroom II; the second largest bedroom, this room has a more masculine energy with a king size sleigh bed and a minimalist feel. The en-suite is also sizable and exudes cool.
The French Room; a smaller but equally beautiful room, reminiscent of its namesake. This room also features a small but perfect formed en-suite toilet and shower. Look out for the exquisite antique sink.
Second floor:
Attic Room; at the top of the house you’ll find this cosy attic space with a view. The room has a single antique Indian bed. There is a bathroom across a private landing. Be warned, due to its location in the house the space has sloped ceilings.
All rooms are decorated to high standards and have lamps or dimmers for soft, atmospheric lighting. Around every corner you’ll find beautiful furniture, soft furnishings, antiques and artwork. High quality linen and towels are provided in each bedroom and bathroom as well as high quality toiletries.
The gardens:
The Rose House was built in the grounds of a disused quarry, lending to the feeling of being enclosed in a private sunken garden; your own oasis!
There is a miniature rose garden for two to enjoy a morning coffee, and outdoor dining designed for 6 where you can start your evening with a glass of wine sitting comfortably near the pond - you might see one of the 4 Japanese Koi Fish!
There is also a sitting area just outside the dining room created within a herb garden.
If you prefer to explore the local area, there are two pubs within walking distance.
Guest access:
Guests have full and private access to the main house and its beautiful sculptured gardens. There is ample, gated parking for 4 cars.
Please be aware that there is a small but deep pond (2 metres) in the courtyard.
