The property does NOT have a view of Casco Bay. It has a view of adjacent buildings and roofs. There is a master switch to turn on electric lights which we discovered on our next to last day…otherwise there were two lights at night and FLASHLIGHTS in the bedrooms to find your way around!
The place needs a vacuum cleaner or a stick vacuum. There’s a broom in the garage but no broom and dustpan in the house.
The best part of the property is the porch furniture!!
I suspect the property has passed on to the next generation of ownership who see it as as income stream. There is no pride exhibited in the grounds and “gardens”…someone mows the lawn but does no weed whacking.
We ‘ve vacationed in Maine all our lives…we’re 82, and this was the least satisfactory place we’ve stayed.
The house has tchotchkes on every level surface. They’ve collected everyone’s dinner plates and cups. There’sNO place to put anything down when you’re working in the kitchen. There are mugs, and bottles, and ships in bottles. Tchotchkes everywhere!
Not to be taken as a criticism of the two ladies on the ground, Darcie and Marcie.
They were great. Responsive and helpful.
