This is a lovely hotel in the heart of the pedestrianised area of Avignon. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, conversing comfortably in English, rather than relying on my schoolboy French. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

We liked everything about this property other than how difficult it was to try to find it by car. Avignon inside the city walls is a mirrors-in driving disaster. Narrow one way streets everywhere. Wayze sent us down a too narrow street and our car almost got stuck. Inches to spare. At night! The main garage under the Palace of the Popes is just 100 yards away. Better to aim for that garage and it’s an easy walk. The hotel could provide more clear driving jnstructiins and a map of which city gate to enter for that garage. Otherwise the perfect location.

A delightful European hotel

Overall our takeaway was the excellent assistance provided by the front desk staff. The breakfast also was truly amazing. However our double standard room was very Basic and the bed so close to the window my husband had a difficult time navigating without hitting the wall that juts out from window. The carpeting needs to be upgraded as it’s worn at the entry point. The shower in the tub a little harder to access and the partial smaller glass door enclosure does not keep water from spraying beyond and flooding the floor. Locale good for walking around but tricky for Uber drivers as there is limited vehicular access to the main square near hotel. Permission required at a Stop area. Hotel staff did help and called ahead on our departure day to allow access for our friends to pick us up.
