The Southend of Ocean City offers church services at Our Lady of Good Counsel across the street. A one block walk to casual outdoor dining at Uncle Bill’s and take-out ice cream at Aunt Betty’s. Additional eating and shopping a short ride downtown to Asbury Avenue between 6th and 14th Streets. Also a short ride downtown is the family friendly boardwalk with food, shopping, entertainment and amusement parks.
And book ahead, if possible, at The Ocean City Music Pier for lively foot-stomping, body swaying, hand clapping, enjoyable performances from a variety of entertaining and often name brand talent.

For kids and adults alike, there is a wonderful playground at 34th Street between Asbury and West Avenues with tennis and basketball courts, children’s swings, seesaws and jungle gyms. And you might want to visit Storybook Land, 6415 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township; 18 rides, adults may join kids on most rides and lots of story book displays; serves food too.
Atlantic City is 15 miles north for additional dining choices, live entertainment, gaming and shopping at Tanger Outlets. For a day trip of fun, food, entertainment, and a zoo head south to Cape May, New Jersey, to enjoy an historic district of beautifully maintained Victorian buildings.
