Although the room itself looked fine, the hotel as a whole looks like it is abandoned. Dirty, garbage stored in a room by the elevator, just one elevator working, not a pleasant place to stay. Limited breakfast. I guess most people stay there because price is reasonable but I do not recommend. I had stayed at a Sonesta Hotel in Duluth which was very nice. But this Sonesta Select is just not worth it.

When I was checking in, the hotel clerk was talking on the phone via earbuds so when I was asking questions it was hard to tell wether she was responding to me or the phone. I've never experianced such unproffessional behavior!

I did not like the property at all. The property reeks of smoke, it did not smell fresh or look fresh floors or dirty carpet was dirty. Carpet also had burnt holes. The TV did not work. I requested somebody to come and fix it four times I tried to call down the telephone didn’t work so I had to physically go to the front desk And call from my personal phone to get someone to come up no one ever did. I feel I should be get a refund

Good property
My stay was very comfortable, nothing special, but very simple. This property is decent and accommodated my need for a room after checking out of another property early. Hotels.com on the other hand is horrible and these thieves stole my money and are refusing to give me a refund for a 7 night stay of which I only stayed for 1 night.

Don’t book.
None of the receptionists were friendly by any means. Booked for two nights, tv worked neither night. Went to talk to the front desk about it we was told there was nothing they could do and had a nasty attitude. Was given no clean towels nor rags. False advertisement about the indoor pool being in service. No microwave in the room. All the way down in the lobby, took 5-10 mins to go up and down the elevator with only One out of two elevators working. Booked for my daughter’s birthday for a slumber party. Was really disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend this location: you can tell they could have good qualities possibly if they had a better caring crew.

This place is VERY run down. The first person I dealt with was not friendly at all, mentioned the TV may or may not work because they're in the process of doing upgrades. I asked if there was a discount if it didn't work he said no but if I wanted to cancel the room I'd need to reach out to Expedia to see if I could get a refund. It was late so I went to the dirty elevators (with trash stuck in the elevator ceiling - hard to describe but I've got pictures and videos) up to the 6th floor and swiftly moved through the dingy hallway to my room. The pictures must've been from at least 10 years ago because NONE of the rooms I visited that night looked like what I saw online. Sadly, I grabbed the remote, turned on the TV and it did some sort of shuffle then went back to the same blue screen. I went back downstairs, to find another, less rude man and he advised me the TVs on the 5th floor SHOULD be working so he gave me a key to another room. Once I made it to that dirty, noisy floor I entered the room to see the cords weren't even run to that television. EXTREMELY frustrated I went back down to the desk and he gave me yet another room assignment. The ONLY reason I bothered to stay was it was nearing midnight and I didn't want to fight with the no refund policy and have to find another room at that time. FINALLY this third room has a functioning TV. I pulled the ripped liner for the shades together, decided to skip the dated shower and just went to sleep. VERY LOW END

It was not a great experience at the start. we were meant to check in at 4 and didn’t get into our room until 5:30. I do feel bad about the poor guy that was working by himself and catching every bodies attitudes, but they were not prepared for a large number of people knowing that a huge event was going on. I also didn’t understand why there were only one microwave working. but i hope they fix the issue!

The first room I was in had red stains on the carpet, the toilet did not work, the tub was flooded, there was no blanket just an extra fitted sheet, 3 overly used pillows, and the tv did not work. I made sure to take pictures and videos of EVERYTHING. The following day I went to the front desk to request a new room. However the gentleman told me “maintenance” would be in to fix my issues. I left for 11 hours!! To come back to a room that was not serviced by maintenance nor house keeping. This is the first hotel I’ve been to and didn’t see any housekeeping workers or carts in the hall, it’s like they were non existent. I then went back to the front desk, who finally put me in a different room. Only to find in the new room similar stains on the carpet, no remote in the room, and the toilet not flushing. Just an all around TERRIBLE experience.

I didn't accept the room after inspection. Very unsightly stains on the floor. Broken vanity mirror. Air conditioner was NOT working. Graffiti scrawled into the metal walls of the elevator. Dark and dingy environment. Lot of vagrants in the area. Still waiting on my refund.
