Great location and reasonably priced. Athens seemed very safe and the area seemed busy till late so felt safe. Everything and most of the sights very easily accessible. Lively area and being Athens the coffee, dessert and dining scene was amazing with all amenities nearby. However our room was on a level that seemed to get noisy with the street noise until late at night and early morning. We are extensively travelled and like our comforts but did not find the bed or pillows (flat) to our comfort expectations. Staff were polite and responsive. Breakfast was good and with a view of the Acropolis

I have stayed at the Astor many times ( more than a dozen)..they have worked hard to bring it up to a new standard. It shows and was appreciated. I also understand that staff gets worn out from a non stop season. I will address the issue with management directly. Location, cleanliness and comfort are 5 star. Breakfast on the roof always fabulous

Friendly and helpful staff! Good location. Great food and rooftop view of Acropolis. Bathroom needs a good scrub, shower head needs to be placed with a barrier between the toilet and shower as water gets everywhere when showering. Other than that it was a good experience. 4 stars

Awesome Location
This hotel is everything I am looking for. The rooms are clean, staff efficient and the location is convenient, safe and within walking distance to all major tourist attractions. This hotel was booked before our cruise and I thoroughly loved it. After the cruise I choose a different hotel based on reviews (Coco Mat Athens) and I regret that decision. I really wish I was back at the Astor.

I attempted to change my reservation two nights before my stay, but unfortunately, the hotel refused to issue a refund. I reached out to the Expedia staff for assistance, but they were unable to resolve the issue as well. Despite multiple requests for information about which credit card was used for the payment, I was unable to obtain the necessary details to cancel the transaction, as I was not going to stay there. While I've generally had positive experiences with Expedia and their sister companies, this situation was a letdown. I had hoped for better support as a loyal customer, but I could not secure a refund. This booking, costing nearly $400, has prompted me to consider alternatives such as Agoda and Airbnb for future reservations. I hope for a better service experience in the future.

The rooftop patio has an exceptional view of the Parthenon, and having our morning breakfast there was a real treat! However, we found that evening drinks on the rooftop was more expensive than most other places - it was 17 EUR for a beer and glass of wine.
