We like all for the outside front and backyard. Make sure to make reservations for the restaurant Church Hill’s. Save room for the dessert. Digby was beautiful and don’t forget to check out Bear River. Myrtle & Rosie’s carrot cake. Cool galleries and gift shops. All within a short drive to the St. John New Brunswick ferry…

The shared spaces were nice and clean...the room, it was bad. Mildew, mold, dirty bathtub, water not draining, paint chipping, cracks around the walls and doors. The room felt like a motel, the pool was nice and clean. Would not come back.

Great hotel
Nice hotel, old but charming. Breakfast buffet $25 per person, which seems a bit high for what it is. Pool open 7am-10pm and is heated so open into the early fall.

Very historic feeling, nice pool and sauna. Love the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. Food was overpriced for the quality though. Staff were great!

This hotel may have been great in it's day but that day seems to be over. When we first got to the room, my wife got locked in the bathroom. The knob did not work from the inside. Then we discovered long black hair all over the tile and in the tub as well as on the floor along the base boards. We told the lady at the desk who sent us to her supervisor who told us she would need to tell her manager and that was an end to it. We heard no more about it and didn't push it. We cleaned the bathroom ourselves. They seem to be understaffed and rushed. We ate only once in the restaurant on site. The view however is stunning as are the grounds.

Comfortable but inconvenient
Check in was fine, except that there’s only one entrance to the hotel; and there’s a staircase of about 12 steps to get up to the lobby entrance from the driveway (and there’s no place for arrivals to park and unload suitcases and bags, so you have to park in a No Parking area to unload, and then carry all of your suitcases and bags up the stairs. Then you can put them on a cart to take to your room. They had one bellcap but she was not around when we arrived. We’re in our 70s and didn’t appreciate having to lug our bags up those steps. The closest available parking spot about 100 meters away. The room was nice but very small; no desk, refrigerator or microwave. We were close to the elevator so could hear it going up and down all the time.

Staff was efficient and professional. Beautiful property and ample parking. Our room was dated with an extremely small bathroom, no refrigerator, toilet ran slow and sink drain seemed a little clogged. Ground floor, and had no view other than a maintenance shed? It was fine for a one night stay for under 200 dollars. I wouldn't pay more, or would want to stay longer. The upper rooms are perhaps more updated.

Our first impression - the receptionist was flustered training two new persons. The first King room we were given was on the 1st floor, AC did not work, the room was humid, paint was badly peeling on ceiling, the door opened and shut hard due to a failing hinge, and our view was of a large fan that when the window was open for air at night, was noisy. The front desk receptionist sent someone back to the room with us to verify our issues with the room, then she assigned another room directly above. That room a mirror image of the first, it was in better shape, paint peeling in the bathroom only, sink didn't drain well (no stopper) and the same lovely view of the fan but not as noisy one floor up. The next morning we awoke to the scraping of the ceiling below as they made repairs to the first room we were assigned below us. I felt like a 2nd class citizen because we booked through hotels.com as the hotel was definitely not full; why assign a room in the worst location/view especially when you have to move all your luggage down those hallway steps to another room? The hotel entry is 9 steps up to the front door and the 1st floor rooms require another 9 steps up to get to the hallway. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and the staff and food was exceptional. The public rooms were very nice and there was a large heated pool and changing rooms which was great. The grounds were well kept and clean.

I didn’t like the fact that there was no fridge or microwave in the room, for the price that should definitely be fixed! Being a diabetic with insulin needs to be refrigerated and going to the front fest to retrieve an item is very inconvenient.

The hotel is on beautiful grounds overlooking the bay and city of Digby. We stayed in the main hotel which is in need of a lot of upkeep. While not dirty, the room was very musty and the bathroom had mildew on the tiles and was generally not in great shape for what we paid to stay there. Please note, the pool is really nice but there is absolutely NO hot tub as stated on Expedia. The location is Ok, but walking in to Digby is not a good choice as the road is busy and no shoulder to walk on. The staff were not friendly or rude. They answered our requests but not with any suggestion they enjoyed doing it. All said I would not stay here again. Based on the price we paid I would expect much more all around.
