We had booked two nights to explore Andong and the surrounds. The hotel was a bit of a shocker. "Loud" decor, to put it mildly, and our room was small and not very comfortable.
Bed was hard, armchairs broken, there was an old broken water cooler, odd PC, small glass oven contraption to sterilise the glasses, TV played the programs on half size, bathtub was blocked, location was reasonably central but really quite grim.
As for Andong itself, it was a huge disappointment. Partly because we are vegetarian and this was absolutely the hardest place (after 6 other locations in Korea) to eat, but also no bars and in general it felt soulless.
Have never done this before, but despite having prepaid 2 nights, we quite the hotel after one and drove on to Daegu to make our planned 2 nights 3. This proved to be a very wise decision, we made extra pitstops en-route and could have spent four nights easily there.
We enjoyed the Hahoe village near Andong, but other than that I don't recommend. Far more interesting places.
As for the hotel, it was just a bit depressing and I can't recommend it, despite what I'm sure are the owner's best intentions.
