Lovely area to explore
Amal is a good location for exploring the lakes. There a couple of ok places to eat out, but not as many as I'd have liked. Definitely a base rather than a location. Hotel is in an older building and decorated sympathetically. Our room had plenty of space, but no tea or coffee making facilities.

Heritage history
My grandson and I came there to see where his great grandson parents were from. It is a beautiful landscape. People were very friendly. The hotel was wonderful. A lot of history in the town.

I would come back, but some renovation would be ok
The hotel looks very traditional and I have nothing against that, however, there were some patches on the wall probably to cover scratches, but not properly done, and the bathroom could DEFINITELY use some renovation. I could be sure it was clean, but it did not look fresh at all. Staff was super, super nice!!

Stort rom, med veldig god seng og deilig sengetøy. Hadde ikke balkong eller aircondition. Vi måtte ha vinduet åpnet på grunn av varmen og vårt rom var vendt mot gaten som var overraskende trafikkert om natten.
