Loved our recent stay in Itmenaan estate. We went there with our kiddos - our 3 year old toddler and our 5 year old doggo. The property is situated in a serene location with a clear view of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The rooms are comfortable. Could be more cleaner and the service of house keeping could be better but overall comfortable and simple cottage living in the mountains. The food is great and homely. Breakfast options could be more and better but overall no complains for our 3 day stay. Could become boring if you intend to stay longer but I am sure the staff could accommodate custom food requests.
I liked the entire mountainous surroundings, accommodation facilities, service staff, excellent food. Although I had read about and knew of the steep hill I have to climb down to Itimenaan Estate, i found myself totally unprepared for the very challenging and steep climb made more dangerous because of moist and slippery rocks. Not for faint hearted. But the beauty of the surroundings makes it all worthwhile.
Excellent place to chill out with good hikes down the valley to a waterfall and a nearby village .Very courteous and cooperative staff.. good food.
The 15-20 minutes' walk to the property from Calnichilla village road head (vehicles have to be left here) is a bit challenging..the uphill climb, on return, is rather challenging and not suitable for the physically unfit
