There were two of us traveling together and decided to stay in one room, the only option online through Expedia was a single bed room so we booked that and hoped for the best. When we arrived to Bonsai (arrived two hours before check-in), we were welcomed by Christian, a hotel staff member and offered a breakfast free of charge. After eating, our room was not ready for check-in so we waited patiently. Once the room was ready we were allowed to choose to stay in the room that we originally booked or accept a free upgrade of a family room which held four people, we gladly accepted the upgrade. The room was a typical hotel room, comfy with a tv, couldn't really ask for anything more especially for the low price of the booking! The staff (I'm assuming all family members) were extremely nice and truly cared for the guests on their property. Our first day there, Christian called the shuttle service to have us taken to the beach which was 10km away, once the shuttle arrived, the hotel had given us a gift basket full of fresh fruit for us to enjoy at the beach. This gesture was a rather wonderful surprise since we had no snacks or food for the beach prepared. If you do not have a car, it IS OKAY! We did not have car but managed to survive. The shuttle service that the hotel recommends is excellent and has cheap rates. We spent only double digits for shuttle service for three days vs. triple digits for a car rental. We also rented bicycles which can be delivered to the hotel.
