The walls into the hallway are a little thin, and the floors are a little slippery in the room. Otherwise, a cozy and pleasing place to stay, and we particularly appreciated the abundant free food and drink.

We stayed at this hotel many years ago. There have been changes since that time. Breakfast is included with the room and used to include unique items like corn beef hash. This time the breakfast menu varied from satisfactory to excellent. The excellent breakfast included egg fritatta, fresh fruit, kielbasa with onions, scrambled eggs, potato pancakes and many other items. The other major change is a change in the decor of some of the rooms. Some of the rooms are decorated with colonial design furniture, while the newer rooms have industrial design decor. My wife and I preferred the colonial decor, which compliments the architecture of the Inn.

Please listen to all the reviews, including this one, about the awesome hot breakfast they serve here! Thin crispy bacon, stack and stack of them, FTW! Sausage, scrambled eggs, and all the other good stuff. They even had pre-made breakfast sandwiches if you're rushing to leave. Such great values for the money, especially if you travel with family. Friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable. The only minor gripe is that you can't set the heat to a specific temperature so it's always on or off, with low/high heat settings.

Hidden gem
I"ve stayed many times when on biz in the albany area, and look forward to it every time. Checkin is always smooth, plus there's always hot coffee, ice water and usually some type of snack: cookies/brownies and even hot soup/chili during the winter. The (included) breakfast is a+. Real scrambled eggs, plus the chef (BB who is super friendly) will do some special for you, ie;poached. A yogurt parfait bar is always available including fresh strawberries and blueberries. This place is a hidden gem.

I came by train and taxi (not by car) and I wished I had known that the diner and the bar would be closed on Sunday and Monday, which were the days I was there. There are no dining options in walking distance, which is expected in these areas where everyone drives. It is very nice that the hotel provides complimentary soup though :-) Only, I am a vegetarian, so I couldn't eat this one. I didn't starve though, because at least I was able to purchase some snacks. Great breakfast! I also was very grateful that I was able to use a computer and printer, because I had to do some last minute business work. I loved how clean the rooms were and that there is a coffee maker and microwave, fridge.
