Acheron Valley Country Retreat Family Bungalow Lake
Summary:
Acheron Valley Country Estate is an isolated place with romantic scenery all seasons, especially winter with mist on the surface of the lake, where our black swans swim, and sunny nights for the Milk Way stargazing.
Once a legendary resort estate, sizing 225 Acres land, you can still feel its majestic elegance back those days. It is with such isolated beauty that we still treasure it as a place to be defended and willing to share with our guests feeling the same.
Currently we have 2 family bungalows at the lake, about 75sqm, each with an open kitchen equipped with an oven, microwave oven and cooktop. Around the lake, we also have 12 lakefront rooms under 6 cabins, each cabin has 2 rooms about 35sqm and all contain a private bathroom. In our main complex where our reception is located, we have 17 verandah rooms overlooking the grassland, old tennis court, rose garden and hills. Each verandah room has a private and spacious bathroom, about 40sqm.
You are welcomed to walk around our estate to explore the wilderness and 100% natural and organic scenery. We have lakefront cabins and family bungalows overlooking the lake with black swans, ducks, geese, coots and others. From the lake you can wander around to the hilltop for sunsets and other picturesque experiences. Verandah rooms overlooking the generous grassland and rose garden (seasonal flowering) while having kookaburra and kangaroos in the distance overlooking the lower grassland at the lake to our hills.
The Space:
BRAND NEW split air conditioners installed in ALL ROOM!! Stay tuned for MORE rejuvenation and renovation to be updated!!
FR- our Family bungalow room type is super popular and there are multiple bungalows available to book.
Each family bungalow can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. If you have more people, you can find our LR rooms which are lakefront cabin rooms also around the lake, so you have more spaces and a comfortable stay.
Layout: 1 kitchen, lounge with seating sofa, dining table, 1 queen bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds, 1 private bathroom with bathtub.
Kitchen amenities: small/middle pans, utensils, wine glasses, drinking glasses, fridge, microwave oven, freestanding oven/stove.
Around the lake and down our hills, you will find kangaroos, black swans, geese, ducks, birds and other wild ones you barely would be any closer elsewhere. They are friendly, welcoming and entertaining.
Some units also have a kitchenette equipped with a microwave, a fridge, and a stovetop.
Make yourself at home in our guest rooms featuring minibars. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. We have free WiFi at the main entrance building,
Free self parking is available onsite.
Guest Access:
The on-site manager is a multi-tasker and he is always helpful and considerate when you need something.
Some of the buildings in our estate have been closed pls do not enter any of them without asking and we advise you to explore more of our scenery than our old buildings.
The Neighborhood:

Getting Around:
Map: The main complex includes most of the rooms with verandah, under the same roof as our old Stonelea restaurant, the reception and the bars where we prefer to keep closed due to the impact of COVID-19.
Along the deck at the front entrance when you walk to turn the corner, you will see the rose garden and the hill. To go to the lakefront rooms, you just step down and they are on the left side down the rose garden.
At the end of the lakefront cabins are the family bungalows/cabins.
Around the lake and down our hills, you will find kangaroos, black swans, geese, ducks, birds and other wild ones you barely would be any closer elsewhere. They are friendly, welcoming and entertaining.
Other Things to Note:
Old carpet and furniture as part of our charm.
Family cabin: we advise you to take your own firewood, cooking utensils as we have limited amenities in the kitchen, in which way you are prepared to have a perfect stay. Lakefront rooms are also spacious, easy access to nature, full of light and views of greens.
Comfortable and firm bedding! Big land for outdoor activities
We are keen to minimise labour cost and make it more affordable for our guests. There might be dirt around the deck and some common areas because of the generosity of lands we have and how abundant animals are conquering this place as their home.
