We had a lovely time during our,stay at this spa hotel. Staff were always friendly, said hello as walking past in the hallways. Everything about our stay was good. Perhaps a little tired in places but for a bolthole getaway from hustle and bustle it was perfect for a long weekend away break. The large bed in the Ridings suite was fab. Breakast offered all what youd'd expect from fried to fruit,needs updating a little to take things u p a notch...fresh bread to cut, fresh tomatoes. Worth noting, a wedding took place but the size of the hotel meant it absorbed any impacts it may have had on noise levels etc . So everyone was happy.

The staff were always happy and were extremely helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size. The grounds were extensive and we enjoyed walking in the gardens particularly the Italian garden with the beautiful pond. We stayed in the main hotel but I must say it needs a little TLC. Apart from that we had a wonderful relaxing holiday, so much so we stayed an extra night.

Friendly staff, lovely lobby and library . Rooms comfortable and clean . Bed is comfy. Nice quality bathroom fittings . Breakfast was fab . Spa facilities really nice , pool , sauna, steam and pool A few communal and garden areas need maintenance attention but it didn’t ruin our stay. Lovely anniversary surprise in the room - we would stay again

Fantastic hotel

Stayed here for 5 consecutive years for local airshow, this year will probably be our last year. Breakfast was worst it’s been, cold undercooked bacon, horrendous coffee machine and questionable slimey eggs. Large selection but poor quality. Rooms are nice, very clean and smart inside, comfortable beds and plenty of plug points etc. the accommodation building wing is very dated from outside, but lovely inside. This hotel must cost a fortune to run. It’s huge grounds etc. No cash, even at bar. Card only and very expensive, JD Coke + Gin Tonic £21! Won’t be returning even after staying here all these years, such a shame.

The hotel is stunning!! Someone needs to tell me what the smell in reception is because it was amazing but no one knew what it was The room was spacious and comfortable although the bathroom was a little.run down it was still functional Have the pool was a great touch. There is plenty of room out side to take a walk and loads of comfortable out side seating We will definatley stay again

We stayed in room 209 in the outer section of the hotel. The room was clean and spacious but ridiculously hot! No air con and the fan provided just moved around hot air. Due to the time of year being July and summer months we feel the hotel should have air con like other hotels especially for the price we paid to stay at the hotel (£160 per night) The hotel is run down and could do with a lick of paint, to freshen it up. Looks like the air conditioning in the main hotel had been leaking too, water marks around the units in the restaurant. The food was delicious, we throughly enjoyed dinner and service was good. Be warned they only accept card not cash. Would return if they upgrade the rooms with air con and has a freshen up.

The cleanliness wasn't so great. There was hair in the mug in the room. The towel in the wardrobes in the room was dusty. However, it was great to have a swimming pool in the hotel.

Just a one night stopover on route. Hotel is in a lovely position with good close parking. Room was large and well appointed. Overall condition of room was tired and could do with a redecorate. Bathroom had a bath with shower over bath, never ideal but worked ok. Think the 4 star rating is a bit ambitious based on our experience.
