Worth every penny
Value for money. Room comfortable and clean. Next door to the Starling Cloud, Marston's, and evening meals and breakfast choices were very good, food tasty and enjoyable and good value. Staff, including Manager, could not do enough to make our stay worth every penny. Definitely will be back.

TV remote had power but would not work with the TV. Internet yielded a privacy error for all sites, on laptop and phone. Breakfast dreadful: only instant coffee, juice tasted like weak cordial, poached eggs hard and avocado pureed and tasteless, not smashed.

This is a Marston's Pub/Diner with a separate accommodation block. It's a bit out of the centre of Aberystwyth but has plenty of onsite parking. The rooms are basic but comfortable. The "Pub" is really a restaurant, often with no seating to just have a drink. If you want an evening meal there, book it. Food is standard pub fare, but the Staff, who double as Reception and Bar Staff were very good.

On day of arrival, I asked it I could book a table for 10 in the pub (we were all staying at the hotel) and was told as the booking was over 8 people, we had to give 3 days notice so they could not accommodate. I then asked another member of the pub team and they said I could book it, only to then be told by the supervisor we couldn't again. Crazy, who turns down bookings? In the end, we all went into the pub at 1 minute intervals, sat together and ordered. Food was nice. Breakfast the next day was really average. Most items on the cooked breakfast was overcooked and underwhelming. Aberystwyth in its self is a lovely place and we really enjoyed exploring it.

The room was spacious and quiet. The staff were friendly and polite. Dinner was good, breakfast was disappointing. My husband ordered smashed avocado on toast with bacon and poached egg. There was virtually no avocado on toast. The waitress was lovely and removed it from our bill. Was disappointing though.
